As for sore boobs, I dont have them as such. Just sensitive nipples, definitely have PSN going on!!!

Argh Laurz, that sucks. We'll leave you on the 1st until your dating scan!!

lol Fallen!!! Pleased you dont have that feeling now Oh and, its great your DF made the appt but geez Saturday lol Good on him for trying though!!

Well AFM nothing new really. Waves of Nausea come and go throughout the day. There isnt any particular time that is worse, it just comes and goes. Still have sore nipples and the odd bit of cramping.

Sorry I have been missing in action. Everybody seems to be well and doing great - nausea is a good sign isn't it even though it sucks!?

Not so good for me unfortunately. Had to have scan today and I have either miscarried or I also have a mass in my right ovary which could be eptopic. I don't have any pain or anything, so the Doctor is going to leave it for now. I have to have another blood test on Thursday and if my levels keep dropping she will leave it, if they don't I will have to have methrotrexate again. The mass in my ovary could be unrelated and just be a bit of fluid. Its wait and see really.
Very disappointed....naturally, but I expected it because of the bleeding over the past week, so there was no great rush of emotions if that makes sense!
Im kinda of hopeful that I don't have to have the injection, otherwise I have to wait longer and I want to get back on the baby making wagon.

On the positive side - I am fortunate enough to get pregnant, when there are many other's that cant. Now I just have to make them stick!

Here's hoping its third time lucky.

oh sh_az that must be very worrying for you :(
X fingers crossed X for 3rd time lucky.

Rianna (and others)- can you tell me more about the cramps you get? mine are quite mild, and only come on when I stand from sitting. how regular are they? I am stressing about them, rang doctor again today to hassle for blood results but still not in. scan place rang and said that because my doctor isn't a registered midwife then I would have to pay full price for the scan (not sure how much that is), so rang my midwife and she is going to refer me.
She said my symptoms sound quite normal, but still recommended I get checked.

Sh_az - that's such disappointing news - I'm so sorry Our thoughts are with you and hopefully you don't need the injection so you can be back on the baby making wagon in no time!

Well, I got my first lot of morniing sickness today and man, did it suck! It was also my first check-up with the doc so she was probably wondering why I was so unenthusiastic - I was not in the mood!

The doc gave me a business card for Altair Pregnancy Consultants who I have to ring to organise a midwife, and they can then organise a scan for me in about 3-4 weeks so fingers crossed the next few weeks will fly by uneventfully.

The doc also said that most miscarriages happen between 7-10 weeks, which is the next 3 weeks for me, so I'm a little nervous to get through this time in one piece!

star169 - I can't help you with the cramping sorry as i have not experienced any myself, but I did read on a website that it could be a sign of a stretching and growing uterus which is totally normal. But if the cramping is in combination with spotting then you should let your doc/midwife know...

Well I hope the rest of you ladies are doing well... it'll be so great when we're past the worrying stages - I feel like that's all I'm doing at the moment. I need to stop reading horror stories on the internet! grrrrr!

I agree amykt! I deffinately need to stop reading horror stories on the net. I don't think I've used google so much in my life! does nothing for my worrying. I'm suprise your doctor said 7-10 weeks as I always asumed it was earlier. *more worrying starts* !

she said that 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage, but that most of those occur even before the mother knows that she is pregnant so they would not have known that a miscarriage even occured. She said that of those that do find out they are pregnant most happen at 7-10 weeks - so who knows?! it is just one opinion and i've read many on the subject! i'm not relying on anything until i've had my first scan and i can see that little heartbeat and know everything is ok

Thanks guys.

Star169 - using me as an example - I had no cramps until Monday and then it was completely full on, and bad and you kinda feel like it isn't normal. It didn't matter what I did, I couldn't get comfortable.

I kept looking on the net as well - you just can't help it! I think cramping is quite normal for some people - the info that I saw, said it was, it was when it was very painful, combined with blood that could indicate a problem. I would try not to worry too much - but hey that's always easier said than done.

I am sure you will be fine - fingers crossed for both of you

Sh_az Im so sorry for your loss hun My thoughts are with you

Star as for cramps, mine come and go throughout the day, there is no set time or pattern to them. They are mild AF kinda cramps but nothing that is concerning me at this stage. Oh and if it helps you feel a bit better, when I MCed in July, I didnt have any cramping!

Amy yay for MS IYKWIM!!! Please the Dr appt went well.

Well today was a bit of a Drama for me. I noticed some spotting and totally freaked out! Thankfully My Dr is the best and he managed to get me in for a scan and baby was there with a nice heartbeat of 94bpm. Im still spotting, so Im still a bit concerned. Im praying bubs is just settling down

I hope everyone else is going ok!!

those cramps sound like mine rianna08. I don't really have any pain, just discomfort. have had much more painful ones with AF.

Got hcg results today they were 950 on monday (my first day of being 5wks) and nurse said thats quite low so just had another test today will get results hopefully today, but prob tomorrow.

Can I ask what everyone elses were at that stage?

star - there is a HUGE variance in HCG levels between different people, so what another person's levels were has no relevance to yours. What is important is that they are rising as they are supposed to, which is doubling every 48-72 hours. Good luck!

star169 I agree with minik8e - it's not actually the number itself that counts but the doubling.

For example, my results were as follows... (only did 3 tests as the stress was too much!)

At 4 weeks exactly my level was 24iu/ml.

At 4w2d my level was 77iu/ml.

Then at 5w2d my result was 1071iu/ml.

A week later I had a dating scan (6w2d) which showed a definite heartbeat, and as you may have already guessed - I am still pregnant too

So even though it's easier said than done, try not to stress too much about the numbers (and don't let anyone else stress you out over it either... often GPs and nurses can be a bit pessimistic about these things).

RIanna - that must have been so scary for you I'm so so so glad for you that everything turned out ok - that must have been such a relief seeing that little heartbeat on the screen!

I found this website that says once the heartbeat is detected the miscarriage rate drops down to 5%. whoo!

I went and saw the midwife consultant this morning and she matched me up with a midwife called Jan (I think?!). She writes a profile for me and sends it to her and then I meet Jan for my first appointment. She will also fill out my referral for my first scan which is super exciting!

star169 - good luck with your bloods - I got mine done today so still waiting on results.

Lovely lovely day again today but I have to say sitting on the couch being lazy is all i feel like doing at the moment! haha. Have a great day everyone!

**lurker from August 09**

Yay Rianna for the ehartbeat, its a great sight to see isnt it! I just had a scan yesterday cos I am bleeding(red) and saw our baby and its wee heartbeat!

I also agree with the other, with hcg its not the level its how its doubling, doubling is a sign of the healthy pregnancy.

sh_az, im so sorry for your loss

ETA- Cramps are normal, unless its bad cramps like panadol needing cramps and you have spotting, they are nothing to worry about, its just the embryo burrowing into your uterus and getting comfy!

welcome and congratulations m2bee!
I was in the same boat with not being able to get in to get in to a doctor over new years. once I got in, he said just to ring around midwives in the phonebook, and found one after about the 5th go! they are a bit short of them down here.

Welcome M2Bee! What area are you from? Depending on your doctor and area, they will probably be able to advise you the best way to find a midwife. I'm from Auckland and so my doctor sent me to a midwife consultancy place which matches us up with a midwife based on our profile. Others ring around, and others go on word of mouth - it all depends! So see what your doctor recommends And I didn't see my doctor until I was 6 weeks so I wouldn't worry about not the doc until the 12th Jan
