We had one in our old house (HRV) and i tell you what, if you can afford it (they do finance options) DO IT. They're brilliant. Honestly, my sister got really bad athsma before we got it, and in a couple of weeks it had pretty much gone away. I'd love to have one in the new house :/

we have one cost about 2k we got in feb 07 and it's fanastic. Would recommend it we have an older house built in the 70's and wooden floors so it keeps the house drier.

We have the basic one and it cost about $1500. We also put pink batts in the ceiling during winter last year, and i think the DVS and batts make a huge difference. We have a warmer drier house. Well worth the money.

Depends how many vents you need and if you want the heater option etc. Starts at around $1500 and goes up to $3k for the full heater option.

I honestly don't rate ours :( We are constantly having trouble with it being noisy, and not working effectively, and they just keep coming and telling us to keep all the curtains open to make it work better.... Ours cost $1800 about 3 years ago.

We have an HRV which we got last winter, it cost 2.8K for a smallish 3 bedroom house, it is great for getting rid of damp and we don't get any condensation anywhere anymore. I think they do tend to make out that it is more of a heating/cooling system a bit more than what it actually is though. Still don't regret getting it.

We just moved into our new place that had ian HRV installed and had a few problems with the temp settings as it was set quite cool, which is fine for the summer bur cools the house at night. Leah has been in thick winter pjs and has 3 blankets and a duvet at night!! and its not even winter yet. Have just this week figured out how to up the temp (didn"t want to play around too much and the previous owners had lost the manual) Now it seems good and is heating the house as well.

And I think HRV and DVS are so different. Most people I know who have an HRV are much happier than I am with my DVS

We have DVS cost around 3k thats with four vents, we got the 3G one which you can add to later.
Our house is very dry compared to others, and it a lot warmer this time of year.
We brought ours at the Auckland Home Show and got 2 free panel heaters with it. Was the reason we went with DVS instead of HRV.
HRV has smaller vents, so they put more in.
We have a 1970s home with pink batts in the ceiling only.

We would have been charged around 4K for 5 vents and the summer vent thingy.
We went with HRV though, it was slightly cheaper and you are able to close the doors to each room. We love ours so far.
