Topic: ecobubs wool pocket at night Posted: 05 June 2009 at 3:19pm |
ok, we have one of these and I am stuffing it with a foxybots microfibre/hemp trifold and an ecobubs bamboo trifold for night time. He leaks! But just out one part on the side. the front and back of the nappy are dry. He is leaking out the side near the top, not the crotch.
Any tips? This is the side he "points" so maybe that is it but its hard to redirect a little fella.
He does last 12 hours ...but we have to change all the bedding when he wakes up
I notice that when I put it on him the inside puffs out at the top and I cant tuck it in.

only other things i can think of is maybe you need to do it up tighter on that side, or put a cover over the nappy, maybe wool.

Ok, we just had another leak after only 2 hours! Exactly the same place as before. The leak seems to be at the snaps on the left hand side. I imagine it starts at the front and then goes to the back. No leak around the crotch, just the tabs but enough to then soak his clothes. Grrrrrrr so frustrating. The rest of the nappy is dry so its not that he is soaking the pads.
I might try it on Tom next time and see what happens as Tom doesnt pee so much overnight...as long as I get to him straight away when he wakes he is normally quite dry.

Maybe its a fault in the nappy?
Cam has leaked maybe twice in his Ecobubs, but the insert has been sodden, and I think its come through the leg holes, his legs may be just a little too skinny yet for his medium.
Also, I've found when the fleece sticks up a bit at the top, its just the insert pushing it out a bit too far, and if I pull the insert slightly down, it'll go back to normal.

yeah, I'm wondering about a faulty nappy too. It seems odd that its always and only in the same spot....which incidently is where the label is.
As for the fleece at the top. I had a look and it sticks up where the elastic is.
Just a thought.....I am putting it on the right way arent I? I have the smaller part to the front and the wings come round from the back????? The only reason I ask is that these appear to stuff from the front.

yeah they are a front opening pocket. i would contact them and ask them, sounds dodgy to me if it is by the label all the time.

Just thought I would ask here instead of making a new topic with the same title
My ecobubs wool pocket nappy just arrived today (YAY!), how many inserts do I need to put in it? It came with the one fold-over insert with snaps, is that enough?
Thanks

Rachel, you'll have to experiment, hopefully you'll only need the insert it came with. Depends on how much absorbency Chelsea normally needs. Cam consistently wets through his even with extra hemp inserts, but I think the leg holes are still a bit too big for him.

Thanks Jen, I'll try it tonight with just that one insert (doubled over) and see how it goes. Hopefully it will be a snug fit round her chubby lil legs! Just have to wait for her to wake up to find out
