Topic: Eeek help! Posted: 23 February 2008 at 7:20am |
Elle woke in the night crying which she quite honestly has not done since 7.5 months old...that's over 10 months ago!
She has had the most revolting nappies, once a day for a week but yesterday she had 3 and she's had another one this morning. It was a gross nappy that woke her as her bottom was red raw.
TMI but they are greenish, sloppy and filled with mucous. Her bottom was fine yesterday but turned bright red sometime between 8pm and 3am. We've only had 1 rash before and it was thrush so we only have daktozin in the house...no other creams.
She was beside herself again at 6am so we've had an early start! No other signs of illness, she was very happy yesterday, she's just upset ATM because her bottom hurts.
Could all this be from her eye teeth that are coming through? I can feel and see all four. Poor poppet! She was so upset she actually lay on my chest for a morning cuddle...she didn't even do that as a newborn!!! Awww.

It could be her teeth but I always think - if in doubt check it out - if you were to go to the Dr make sure you take a dirty nappy so they can take a sample of it.

I think it may actually be something more. She is getting major gripes + the shakes and it's now liquid mucous...yellowy green.
No fever or anything but yeah, probably a bug. She's never been really sick and upset before. I knew this would happen when we started going to a play group!

they have to get sick eventually...
i dont know if it is a teething thing sorry...but for bad bum rash we like either mustela or sudocreme... and lots of nappy off time and long soaks in the bath...
hope she feels better soon, but in the meantime enjoy the cuddles.

Sounds like a bug to me too, hope she feels better soon.
Gina's had a few colds since starting daycare but it's still worth it and she totally loves it.
How is Elle finding play group?

She loves it! There were 60 people last week though so it's more like play school! LOL
She's getting more and more social. :)

oh dear. hugehugs. We've just had a tummy bug here.. no fun. but wow, my kids are so resilient. Tyde had a couple of 'power chucks ' in his bed, but I didn't know till morning as he didn't cry or anything! Reef and I got it Thursday night. (both ends... sorry TMI!) But Reef was back to bouncing and eating fine at 7am Friday! I however was in bed all day and tonight am only just back to feeling ok again!!
I hope she's over it fast. Just keep an eye on her fluid intake to ensure she doesn't get dehydrated. Reef as a toddler got camplobactar and that was awful, and Tyde got Rotavirus and had to go to hospital due to dehydration.... (not meaning to scare you, and no we're not really unhygenic!! ) but yes, they do pick up bugs when out and about more!!! hope she's better soon!

We'll we had 6 dirty nappies in a row along with gripes etc then a 4 hour sleep and now she seems fine. A bit grumpier than usual but fine. Hopefully that is it.

Hey Xanda has had pretty grotty nappies for the last week so the end result is also super bad nappy rash, we have found that adding baking soda to a warm bath helps soothe his bottom, and he will actually sit down in the bath.
It sounds like she may have a bug, keep up the fluids, little sips often/frequently.
Hope you have a good nights sleep tonight.
