    Posted: 14 September 2009 at 8:43pm
Has anyone ever experienced evaporation lines on a Discovery test? I tested today and can see a very very very faint line if I hold it (and my tongue) the right way. javascript:AddSmileyIcon('')

I miscarried 1 month ago today, and we were going to wait a cycle before trying again, but we had a bit of an oopsie on our first BD and didn't stop in time. Anyway, I've had a 'feeling pregnant' couple of days and went out and got an hpt at lunchtime. Don't know when I ov'd, so don't know when af would be due this cycle.

So wondering if anyone has thought they saw lines on a discovery, but didn't??

Yes, saw the line in the 3 mins. I tested 4 days early last pregnancy with discovery and got a faint line, but definitely darker than this time.

I get so impatient, I want to know now and not wait!!!! I guess, I'll have to though.

No (which I have been thinking about a bit, wondering if it could be left over hormones), but i did do an hpt (supermarket cheapie) about 2 weeks ago to see and there was definitely no second line on it.

I'm in two minds about this, would absolutely love to be UTD again, but had meant to wait the cycle cause the mw and hospital said that it would give the best chances for the next one making it.

No - discovery don't get evap lines - I've had a BFN with them and there is no lines at all only the control.

Sounds like a bfp to me.

Its either a BFP or maybe like you said it could be your hormones still up a wee bit after the MC. Mine took about 3 weeks to get below 5 after my MC.
I'm hoping its the BFP though for you!!

Mine were back down to BFN about 5 days after I MC, so it is different for everyone (I like you did a HPT to check and it was BFN, but I know when I went for my follow up bloods 2 days after bleeding tehy were down to 50 something)
I recon its a BFP, head to the Dr and get bloods done and follow up bloods 48 hours after, if they are rising its a BFP, if not then you will know it was because of the last pregnancy.
I wouldnt worry too much about having a reduced chance of this one making it, my Drs and MW and nurse said it was fine to start TTC again when we wanted to, I asked if we had to wait a certain time and they said no, you dont even have to wait for AF, so that was good... So I think it will be the same with you unless they said it was for a specific reason (like ectopic etc)
GL!! KUP!!

Ive never had anything like an evap on discover esp in time limit! But like everyone says check it's no left over from your MC... I guess another HPT will tell you if it's increasing

Thanks everyone for the info and good vibes. Another test today gave a pretty similar result. I'll give it a couple more days and try again, and then if still the same will go see the dr.

Am visiting my parents out of town this weekend and my Dad has just been diagnosed with Cancer (curable they think) so it will be good news to share if it is a BFP.

And that will be lovely news to share!! I hope your dad gets better.

Well, it seems that it must be slightly raised HCG levels following the mc as af arrived today (29 days after mc, usual cycle 26-27days).

Am not too disappointed as now I know for sure where things are at, and also it means we can get back properly into the TTC business. DH slighlty relieved too as I think he was worried that if we were UTD then there goes the BD for the next month or so...lol

Well good you now know! I hope you fall quickly when you start trying. Have you thought about having your hcg levels tracked back down?

Might be a good idea. Don't want to have confusion again at the end of this cycle.

Yeah what Emmi suggests might be a good thing, I was told not to ttc again until my hcg levels were below 5. Though it looks like your hcg levels must have lowered because of your af coming.

Well, AF seems to have just about ended which is very unlike me - usually a good 6 or so days. I know it can vary after mc, but I think I will go to DR next week to just get eveything checked out.

Thanks for all your advice.

I would def be heading to the dr, an AF that lasts 2 days isnt such a great sign as the lining needs to be nice and thick for the egg to implant...
KUP and let us know what the Dr says.. GL!

I know you have had a weird AF arrive, but I though I would just add what had happened to me with discover early test.
I did one last July, saw the faint pink line appear as the afternoon urine went across the test. Didn't even have to wait and the 2nd line was pink. I got so excited after seeing so many months worth of BFN's. Hubby wasn't sure and made me go get a blood test. On the day I did the blood test, I did another discover test in the medlab toilet and again a faint pink line appeared. HCG blood test came back at less than 1. I was absolutely devastated after 18mths of ttcing.
Ever since then, all I have seen come up on the discover tests is gray 2nd lines, and this is within the time limit, not held up against any light.
Maybe I am just destined to get evaps on all my tests, as I have used so many different ones.
But that is just my experience.
