Topic: Exhausted!! (Little moan from me!) Posted: 18 April 2007 at 8:37am |
And we havent even had the baby yet!!
This morning I woke up feeling as though I had been hit by a bus. I am so tired that I just want to cry...and its not even as though I have been that busy.
Its crappy timing as I have to go into the office today (normally I work from home) and although I really enjoy going in, I just feel so 'wiped' today. I know that I have been tired pretty much since I got pregnant - but this just feels a bit extreme! Its prob not helped by ranging hormones either, but just want to curl up somewhere and sleep for a year!!
Oh well - put a smile on my dial and better head into the office! Just wanted to have a wee winge...!!

Feel your pain here, I always felt so tired that my eyeballs were gonna fall out of my head while pregnant!

Simsam, I can sympathise. I remember being exhausted at around the same stage of pregnancy as well, I dragged myself around and now I look back and don't know how I did it! Just out of interest are you taking any vitamins or anything? I found that Elevit helped alot for me.

I felt drained in my first trimester to but with my first pregnancy my second trimester I got a huge burst of energy.
This tiem round Ive been tired a lot more with a toddler keeping me up in the night.
How were your iron levels in your bloods? Maybe you could be needing some iron, the sugestion of taking Elevit is a good idea as it has alot of vitamins in it that cna help with your tiredness.

Hey Sim Sam - I know what its like - I have been feeling great one day then feel like I've been knocked over by a bus for the next 2!
I found that eating lots of fresh fruit (crunchy apples and yummy oranges) has been helping me - rather than normally pigging out on chips or biscuits!
One other thing for me though, is I've started waking up with headaches - anyone else have this problem first thing in the morning - this is not helping me feel full of energy ready to start the day!

Tiredness in the forst trimester was my main preggie symptom. i was also gutted that while I did improve a little in the second tri, I never got the big 'burst of energy' others talk about. My iron levels and vitamin levels were really high and I still felt like that
You really need to be kind to yourslef. I think often we get it into our heasds that we are only pregnant, not sick and we can function as normal till at least the 3rd tri, when you start getting big. Well, that is not true! Your body is using a tonne of energy growing bubs. Taha is energy you are not getting! So even though it is hard to do it, you do need to take days out to catch up on sleep and rest - or else you end up haveing something like my meltdown week where I pretty much spent a week in tears reacting to insane things and feeling like rubbish!

I didn't really get the tiredness in my first or second trimester. I had the sickness though!
But seriously, today I cannot keep my eyes open, I feel like I've been run over. I've been getting more and more tired as the weeks go by and I'm hoping I can at least catch up on a bit of sleep before I go into labour
half an hour later...
Hahaha oh dear, I wandered off in the middle of writing this and pottered around in the kitchen for ages. I came back to check for new posts and I find a half written post. Think I need to go to bed.
