Not at all. Who are you going to see?

They are a strange mix. Normally medical specialists fall into two camps...surgeons or not. But ophthalmologists are both. they do eye surgery AND treat eye conditions medically. They can also do eye exams....but just between you and me...optometrists are better at getting prescriptions right.

It is quite likely that the paed chose an ophthal over an optometrist purely because they are more familiar with them. But in saying that....If an optom found something a bit funny with his eyes we would refer anyway...you dont muck around with kids eyes. Aidan was premmie wasnt he? They can have eye problems so I think an ophthal is best option.

But let me know who you are seeing. They are all good but some of them have ZERO personality

Done for you, me and the boys see an Ophthal as my insurance company will cover it. Been seeing the same one since I as 4!!!

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!
