I'm just wondering what your babies favourite book is and/or what book you enjoy reading to them most? At the moment I'm liking, 'That's Not My Mermaid..'It's nice and tactile. Eva likes chewing it!

I got given a good one called "Who's my Mummy?" that is also a tactile book. Bella loves the pictures. And you can't go past "The hungry catepillar" - its a classic and I read Bella the same book that my Mum read to me

Both my kids love the very hungry catterpiller (sp) and Jake loves Walter the farting dog. There are lots of lift the flap ones they both love, a fave is a slide and find animal one, Jake likes making the noises, also he LOVES this big one with magnets that he calls the goat book (it had a goat in it) I HATE that one, it goes on "holiday" alot, along with Peter Rabbit, that can be brought to you for reading at least 4 or 5 timers a day . They both love the hairy Mclairy books, and we like MOG ones form the library as well.

Lucas absolutely adores Maisy Mouse books, he goes NUTS when he sees them and is constantly pulling them down from the bookcase and bringing them over for me to read!

I Highly recommend Maisy's Nature Trail which is an interactive pop-up board book ...with frogs jumping in ponds, birds flapping wings ...eggs cracking open to reveal baby chics. It's gorgeous! That has been his fave since 5ot 6 months of age!

Does anyone know where you can buy reasonably priced kids books in Auckland. I went into Whitcoulls the other day and nearly died at how expensive they all were....we are seriously short of books for the wee man, so need to stock up

There's a factory shop at 31 Constellation Drive in Albany, that sells cheap books. Haven't been there yet myself, but have heard it's great for kids books.

Am getting some great book ideas from this thread!
