Topic: Feeling queasy (maybe TMI) Posted: 03 January 2007 at 11:39am |
I know bowels usually do a bit of a clean-out before labour but is it common to feel queasy at the same time? I was feeling queasy a bit last night and now again this morning, and yesterday my bowel motion (sorry TMI but you were warned) was soft and almost black! Is this all within the range of "normal"???? It's sounding rather weird!

I am on iron tablets but I've been taking that amount for about a month or so. But I thought too much iron makes you constipated?

always has the opposite effect on me, if you are taking more iron than you need, your body only absorbs what it needs from your gut and removes the rest, I know my patients on oral supplements get awful diarrhaeo if we forget to stop the tablets when they go on to intravenous injections
But otherwise sounds normal to me

the black can be from iron....esp if your body no longer needs it - thats when it throws it out for me too...
I just realised how close to EDD you are....OMG good luck chick!

Thanks Bombshell I just saw the mw and she said the darker colour and/or queasiness could be a higher sugar intake lately ( at New Year's dinner and all the trifle left over in our fridge!) but the queasiness is probably just a nearly-ready sign - woohoo! (I am so impatient!!!)
I did just get my bloods done only a couple of weeks ago and they were spot on with the iron amounts I was taking, so who knows. Anyway at least I know my body is gearing up for labour.

The queasiness has been coming and going but today I think it has moved in Any tips? I felt slightly queasy in the last three days before going into labour with Hannah, but this has already been three days and it is now nausea not just queasiness

The only thing that helps me is chewing Juicy Fruit lol... I think it's cause it's slightly sweet and is a distraction when chewing it but I sent DH off to Toops to get a box of it rather than me going to the 4 square down the road every day
