Hi, after 3 years of trying, hubby and i have our date for our IVF orientation at Fertility plus, at greenlane. Does anyone know what we will be doing there for 3 hours? Finding out we needed IVF was a huge shock and i haven't done much research on the topic yet. Thanks

Hi sugarbaby - I'm also at Fert Plus in greenlane and I think in the end we were at our orientation appt for a little over 2 hours. I think that say 3 hours just in case things take a little more time.

While we were there we saw a Dr, one of the nurses, the embryologist (sp), and a counsellor. Some of the time is spent waiting for the next person. Basically they just tell you what is involved in IVF, talk about what they will do for you (as its different for each couple). They let you ask questions and go through the IVF consent form that you would of received in your IVF pack.

When is your appointment ? - let me know if you have any questions. They are all wonderful friendly people there.

Good luck with everything.

Hey again - hope the lotto ticket was a lucky one :)
I've started my treatment - I am currently on Puregon. Should have egg collection next week some time if all goes well.

I have an extra step in the process as I am doing IVF with PGD - I have a genetic condition which has a 50% chance of being passed on. So they take a few cells out of the eggs and send them to Australia to test for the condtion and then the 'good' eggs will be frozen and one would be put back. Its a bit of a process but it would be worth it in the end if we have a healthy baby.

All the best for your appt in June

Hi, we are doing our Buserelin now with Fertility Plus. First blood test on Wed 8/7. I guess by now you have had your orientation. We ended up unable to meet the embryologists but spent time with the doctor, nurse and counsellor (who I thought was wonderful). I can hardly believe we have made it this far. 14 years of trying, and we have one daughter (7) and here we go again!!
