My son is about to turn one and usually the mothers take a birthday treat to play group when their child has a birthday. They are very talented ladies who produce the most amazing wee things!

Any great ideas for something I could make that has a bit of wow factor and that would appeal to children aged around 2, 3 and 4 years.

Thanks in advance.

Mini cup cakes or muffins individually decorated with various coloured icings and sprinkles etc. Not too hard to make and I'm sure you could have a lot of fun with the different toppings around.

Lolly cake always goes down well and looks pretty. The recipe is on the back of fruit puffs. You can also roll them into balls instead of the usual long roll.

What about fruit kebabs...i have made them for most of the kids parties we have and they always go down a wee treat. I add a marshmellow to them which the kids love
