Can anyone give me some more food ideas for a nearly one year old.

He eats his weetbix and banana fine for breakkie but after that its downhill.

I've tried an assortment of sandwichs, pasta etc but they get thrown on the floor, he will munch on a mousetrap crusket for lunch ( wow big eater)and loves yogurts but adult food is failing, I gave in last night and he had a jar of 9mth old baby food from in the cupboard and ate it all sigh!!!!

Any things that your little eaters liked?

I'm having the same problem with piper if its not pureed she refuses to eat it and I'm sick of the waste with it going on the floor that I just give in and give her pureed stuff in tins, shes does eat some adult stuff occasionally such as jam sammies, crackers & she has weetbix in the mornins but she absolutely refuses to eat any kind of fruit. I would be keen for some suggestions as well

Shepherds pie is a good one, things that are easy to pick up like fish fingers, larger pieces of fruit (like a quarter of a pear)... my advice is just to persevere - I don't see anything wrong with giving the odd jar of baby food - just make sure some lumpy things and some finger foods are given in the same meal. Worked for us, but it can be a very trying time! Good luck

Little blocks of cheese. Like really small for them to pick up.

I was always worried about what this one eat and what she doesnt eat. Just remember coming to a year they do seem to start eating a bit less. They dont need that much calories as they did through the first year. They will then start eating a bit more just after they start walking.

Trust me I use to really freak out when I hear what other kids eat and what they didnt eat compare to my one. She eats a huge breakfast and not so much through the day which is apparently the most healthy way. So now decided not to mess with it. If she is hungry she will eat. If she isnt she isnt. Just give healthy choices.

Other things she likes is 2 minute noodles with veggie sauce over. Just steam veggies and then mush it up a bit so it will stick to the two minute noodles. Big mess afterwards but they get quite a lot of it in.

Fruit cut up into bite sizes for them to pick up and eat without sticking in the throat is also great.
