Still crawling here. Pulling himself up but not showing any signs of wanting to take off. i dont think its abnormal for them not to be walking yet.

We've had commando crawling here for a couple of months now - but no actual crawling. Now all of a sudden we have furniture cruising and pulling up. I think she's going to go pretty quickly to walking and forget about crawling.
(BTW I didn't walk until 18 months - so don't worry!)

Spencer commando crawled, then crawled properly at 13 months, was pulling up and cruising by 15 months but didn't walk until 18.5 months. Was starting to think he was never gonna do it. He spent ages learning to stand up in the middle of nowhere rather than learning to walk, oh and climbing things, he was doing that long before he could walk as well

Commando crawled at 5 months, proper crawling at 6.5/7 months, walking at 13mo (would have been 12 but had a bone infection so stopped walking just before his 1st bday).

My girl didn't commando crawl, I would have been more than happy than that! She didn't move at all until 18 months and then bum shuffled until finally at 27 months she started walking!

Gabrielle only started commando crawling a week before her first birthday and there is no sign of any pulling up or walking here. She is rocking back and forth on hands and knees though but she's been doing that for about 6 weeks and doesn't seem to be any closer to actual crawling.
Sorry to thread hijack but does anyone else's commando crawler pull along with only one arm? Gabrielle pulls herself with one arm and pushes with her toes - it looks really funny coz she kinda goes sideways instead of straight ahead. Just wondering if that's normal and whether she'll get the hang of moving the other arm?

Wow Lulu - I would have gone crazy with frustration! It was bad enough that Gabrielle waited till she was nearly one to start moving, I was ready to throttle the next person who said "oh, is she not moving yet?never mind all babies move in their own time.My baby started crawling at X months and was walking by now". Grrr.

My boys commando crawled from 8/9months until 13months and now they crawl properly and started cruising furniture at about 13 months too. Eli's taken a few steps and Jacob isn't far behind. They're 15months old now and I am finally at the stage where I'm ready for the next stage and don't mind if they start walking (but still letting them go at their own pace of course) as previously I've been scared sh*tless wondering how I'll cope. actually I lie, I'm still a bit concerned but I'll deal with that later ;)

H&E crawled the standard way from about 8 months and were walking at 15 months.
Yvette I was really ready for them to walk at 15 months as well and after a couple of months once they have really got it down it makes life so much easier. A little bit full on but much easier :)

My son is 11 months old, he is still commando crawling and has been for 5 months. He gets on his knees and elbows and rocks, and has been doing that for 2 weeks now. I just want to know should I be helping him to crawl or should I just leave him to do it in his own time. He gets picked up by people as he cries when he has to do anything hard, but without tears. What should I do?
