Topic: Have a wee laugh at my expense... Posted: 22 August 2007 at 6:54pm |
Willie came home from work early. I left him and the girls in the lounge and went to clean up the pig sty in the kitchen. I left Sienna's nappy off coz her wee butt is a bit red.
Maya comes into the kitchen: Mum, come and see what Sienna did!
Me: (desperately hoping it's something cute and not the obvious) Oh cr*p, she's pooed on the floor. Oh cr*p, she's put her hand it it.
So I throw her at Willie (who hasn't even noticed coz he's watching tv *rolls eyes at males*) so he can hold her while I clean her butt. And I take her bracelet off coz it has poop all over it. I give the bracelet to Maya and say "bubba, go and wash this in the bathroom for Mummy please." Then I start cleaning the floor.
Two minutes later a bloodcurdling scream from the bathroom. Me (again desperately hoping I'm wrong) Oh cr*p she's dropped the flaming bracelet down the sink. The $300, custom made, irreplaceable bracelet my parents gave Sienna.
So I go into the bathroom and unscrew the S bend under the sink. Miracle of miracles, the bracelet is there. Hooray! Breathe huge sigh of relief. Turn the tap on to wash the bracelet. Oh cr*p, didn't put the S bend back on. Water everywhere!
And the funniest part of the whole thing? I am THE master of delegating blame, I inherited it from my dad, nothing is EVER my fault, I can always pawn it off on someone else.
But this, this is TOTALLY my fault. I left Sienna's nappy off, I trusted a 4 year old with the $300 bracelet, and I turned the tap on without screwing the pipe back on.
Way to go Emma, you are a LEGEND!

Haha Ginger was that a "snort"? Hehe
Emma I thought that you were going to say that you rescued the bracelet simply to drop it down again! Glad to see it had a (much) better ending
