stuff for their kids? I swear I have to go to a class or something. Today we went to the market to go see what is there ect. End up buying her a crawling baby and a lion toy as well.
Birthday she is getting a whole nursery set, A baby on a potty and the stuff that goes with that. You would think that is enough right? Naaah she is getting a trike and a helmet and then a book in her name.
So more than enough right? So Christmas is 3 weeks afterwards and what does this kid have? A Pack with fake fruit, floor puzzle, the lion that we bought today. She is getting 2 other puzzles. A Backpack with her name on it and utensils with her name on it.
But then again she doesnt get toys as such during the year. (no seriously, she might get one or 2 toys of 20 bucks or less.)

we're pretty bad, we went out this morning looking because paris has outgrown her sandals, (and ayja) and needs a new daycare hat because she has also outgrown that.
we got to kmart, ended up with cutest hats for both even though ayja didn't need one, we were walking around and looking for sandals that would fit paris (mostly there were no size 9's, but the ones that were there didn't fit cos she has long skinny feet and tiny ankles so her ankles tend to just slide around in them despite trying to do them up as tight as they go!)
we decided to try somewhere else for paris so will go out again later, but we got the checkout, and we remembered that he he he, mike no longer has the credit card. I have them... HIDDEN. so, after convincing him that we didn't need to rush home and get it, we just got the sandals for ayja we had and that's it. I feel good that we stopped ourselves from spending close to $60 on shoes and hats, as the hats for the girls were new hi-5 ones, which while very kewl, were $19 each!!
We got home to find that yes, there was a nice good sunhat in paris's wardrobe i bought her at the end of summer last year, in the size up, so it fits, and mike had a CRC bucket hat he was given last year, that will be perfect for her for daycare too. problem solved, no extra money spent!
mostly, for the record, it's mike not me.. he did a little bit of a tanty when i told him to go put the hi-5 hats back (yes, he did it, not the kids..) and said he felt bad no buying it for them. lol i told him, if we continue doing that they'll get expensive tastes and expect it when they're teenagers and get into debt when they're adults! lol, that and i reminded him we are paying off the credit cards so we have no more debt so we can get that car next year... he soon shut up. lol
ok so a novel here... but yep, we are fairly bad. I have started being the voice of reason and saying "well, we don't actually NEED that"

I seem to be bad with the toys. Clothes I buy on sales for the next year and as she needs it. And sometimes even put away. Seems birthdays I go overboard. And we say Christmas we go small. Mmmmm wonder about that one. But at the same time it is actually cheap stuff that we got her for Christmas. (see trying to justify here.

I buy things if I have an idea for a project in mind - like I've decided to sew Ella something, so I'll go and search for material. And I've decided a sandpit would be great for her, so we've dug out a patch in the garden and we'll get some sand from the garden shop. I tend to stay away from the shops otherwise I come home with useless crap that just clutters up our house.
For Christmas she might be getting a new bike, and a paddling pool.. if we can afford it.

Im terrible terrible wicked bad for buying clothes for the kids, I just can't stop!!! (well, i can, but I am always "looking") and I buy Jake books on a fairly regular basis, i.e weekly, but thats not a bad thing? I usually get ones at the Warehouse for around $5 to $10? I haven't actually bought ANY toys for Charlotte yet, am feeling pretty bad about tht at the mo, might buy her a Lamaze doll to make up for it, though...

Me too Like I need anymore obsessions... says she who is planning to make some stick on stained glass window decals for Erin's room...
I think I'm the worst when it comes to clothes for Erin, but right now for example I am sitting in the lounge and I can see toys *everywhere*

well must say if any child has more clothes than miss gabriella i would be stunned - even the gremlins!....Daycare constantly strip her down or change her to "save" her clothes if she is painting etc and i am always saying what she goes in to DC is DC clothing - even if it is PP, cotton on, United colours of benneton, or childrens place etc....and looks expensive!!
yest i went shopping for a baby shower...ummmmm Gabriella ended up with 3 pairs of summer pyjamas, a new outfit from farmers (SALE was on!), a ride on POOH toy, a leap frog guitar (to put away), a swing cardigan from cotton on, and an outift from PP! she also got given a PP outfit during the week and daddy bought her a pink camoflage outfit from t and t! I got a text yest from her aunty fluffy to say she was out buying for Miss gabriella at a craft fair too....
for xmas we have six F and P large toys put away in back room, and about 5 other toys ready for then or to bring out when we think she is ready
yes SPOILT is now spelt GABRIELLA!!!!

I LOVE shopping as well... and constantly "need" to buy new things for the boys (or even other peoples kids!)
Kmart has become my new place of spending as it has just opened and before that we didnt have one close enough! LOL
My eldest is going away on Tuesday so I have to go and get him
1) New shoes
2) New socks
3) New Hats for both older kids!
4) a suitcase
5) Some new cars for on the plane and when he is bored etc with the "old" people
So I wonder how much extra stuff I will come out with! LOL

I'm terrible too! With me its clothes, toys, shoes... I have a £50 budget each week for extras for me and the girls and the whole lot always goes on bits for them. Plus if either of them 'needs' something then that is extra- Charlotte 'needed' new £35 track shoes so that was in addition to the 50- just like Kates new exersaucer, taggie blankets, teething toys... Plus they both needed new winter coats and the ones at Gap were so gorgeous I couldn't decide so they both got 2 each That was all just this week.
The really annoying thing is that I've spent a bunch on Charlottes winter wardrobe and now the little monkey won't wear trousers because "they're for boys" so all the stylie skinny leg jeans I've got her are just sitting in th draws
I won't even go into how much I spend online! We honestly get parcels delivered almost every day. I LOVE amazon.

I was really bad with my daughter but am finding cute clothes hard to find for a boy so haven't bought a lot for Caleb. Although when I was in the States I went a bit nuts with him at the outlet shops. We went over with a (full) small suitcase inside a large suitcase and came back with both bursting at the seams. The staff at Gap knew us well.
