Hi all,
It might sound funny as I'm 12 weeks pregnant, but it only just hit me yesterday with the scan.... I'm gonna be a Mummy! *YAY*
We had our nuchal fold ultrasound yesterday (everything is fine, all the right bits in all the right places!)

I'm feeling VERY pregnant and clucky now lol. We were lucky enough to get two photos and a 5 minute video (which we've watched about a hundred times already *lol*)where you can see the baby kicking and turning around and even see the heart flickering. Can't wait to meet our baby now.

Hope everyone is well
Toni
-x-

P.S
Happy new year

Thats great!! It's funny, you do the test, it comes up positive, but it's not til you see the bubba that it hits. Although for me, it's not until the baby is out and about that it hits me!!

I'm going to have mine tomorrow, even though I'm in Canada, and I'm NOT looking forward to having to drink all that bloody water again !! I had to go to a local doctor with a letter from my NZ doctor, so I could get a referral to an ultrasound clinic - and I'm going to have to pay a bit for it too, since I'm only a Canadian citizen and not a resident (otherwise it would be free !!). I was also a bit dubious when the doc here told me that they don't normally check for nuchal fold until a bit later, and only if you're 'at risk' ! I didn't like him very much anyway, I miss my doctor already.

It's only just hit me in the last couple of days. I don't think I told you guys, but Jono and I won a cot and a buggy in a competition!!! Very cool It was delivered on Christmas Eve, which was a wonderful present. Now we have gone and bought a few things for the nursery, and my mum got us soooooo many things for Christmas so it's really starting to feel like a bubbba will soon be at our place!! Also, I think this baby is awake and moving CONSTANTLY!! So that's helped to make it feel more real I'm so excited!!!

If any of you Auckland mums is anywhere in the Papakura vicinity there is a kiddies clothing shop that is closing down and everything is half price. I just got 4 stretch n gro type suits and two long sleeve button under tops for $25.00! Also went to Farmers and they had red spot specials on baby clothes today - 30% off... so of course I had to go and buy a couple more things as well....

Wow Clare! that's so cool that you won a cot and buggy!
Now you can really splash out on clothes etc seeing as you don't have to pay for two of the most expensive baby items

Yeah I remember that, it used to drive me nuts.
Especially near the end, when one of my friends was able to refer to her bump as a 'she' and mine was still an 'it'.
Suprise is cool though and you can get some cute unisex stuff. then you get to go shopping in a big way once babe is born!

It's hard not knowing, but I just keep reminding myself how cool it will be when I actually have bubble and we find out! We've decided that Jono will tell me what sex it is - and will tell me by introducing baby to me by name. Something like "Mummy, this is Myrtle or Barry"... or whatever names we actually choose!!!
