I was just wondering how everyone felt about roll out fleece legs vs gussets? I've only ever used a pocket nappy with a gusset and I'm very tempted to try a foxybots nappy but I'm a little nervous about the roll out fleece as I've heard that it can cause wicking? I'd really appreciate your thoughts as I want to branch out and try a few new nappies! :)
Everyone has different opinions on the matter. As long as you make sure the fleece is tucked in its perfectly fine. I chose roll out fleece for my nappies because I found it softer on thighs and also if you stitch down the elastic it makes more stitching holes in the waterproof layer.
Becks (mummy_becks) uses one of my nappies on her heavy wetter at night with no probs
Yep I love the rollout fleece for my nighttime nappy and don't have any leaks. I find you can stuff more into them and not have gapping holes at the legs.
I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!
All I did was to tell DH to lift up Daniels legs to make sure the fleece was in and that there were no gaps for my stitched down naps and he now does this for every nappy we own when he changes
I like the roll out fleece as it seems to fit better around the leg (no gaping) and no red marks. Havent had any problems with wicking either - had more problems with gaping legs.
I can't seem to go back to leg casings now that I have tried roll-out fleece! It just looks more comfortable and there's less gaping. However, I thought you weren't meant to roll the fleece in?
If the elastic is stretched out fully before you snap/velcro it in place, it should automatically roll the fleece in the nappy so that there isn't a bunch of fleece sticking outside where it might tough clothing. If that makes sense. There's still fleece against their legs though.
i also wouldn't go back now that i'm using nappies with rolled out fleece.....i love baby harmony naps and am very keen to try a foxybots...just need to get some $$
