Topic: Eating Family Food Posted: 07 January 2008 at 8:30pm |
When is it ok to eat the rest of the families dinner??
I gave Josh our dinner today (mince with pasta and grated veges) and he loved it.

I started Hannah about 10 months. If it was too hard for her to chew I just mashed it up a bit, but most of the time it was fine as only meat and veges or pasta.

My girlfriend has three girls who all eat everything from Brussel Sprouts to PAUA to A Lamb chop......Right from the word go she has fed them all on whatever they (hubby and her) were having..... ie from about 6 months!!!
I remember watching one of her girls chewing away on a Lamb chop. LOL.
Those girls are amazing and Steph NEVER has problems with making meals etc.
So there you go!

We give Gina what we eat as long as it's not too spicy or too hot. We haven't tried curries but otherwise we'd give her some - normally we blend it for her though.

9mths usually as long as it can be clubbed up for them or mashed, depending on what they can handle.

Way to go Josh! I think if he is happy to eat it and managing ok (i.e. not having difficulty chewing) then it should be fine.
It's taken ages for Ollie to get to the point of wanting to eat what we eat

He loves finger food so i'm going to continue it. So much easier when it comes to meal times. Should get him right for when he goes to daycare next month and they feed him what the preschoolers eat.

We started when they were showing that they were interested, they would always not eat, or chew then spit what they couldnt handle. Both the girls were given chicken (drum-big) & lamb bones anything that didnt splinter too much. They love their veges, esp when mum is blanching brocolli or cauliflower for the freezer they are always into it before its cooled. They also love smoked salmon (hot smoked) & bottled, they had it when we did

Gina has her moments but we do let her try stuff. She's actually gone off purees and wants only chunks now - chunks of what we eat most of the time. DH was just having an apple and little miss demanded she has some too - she just screamed for it at one point
