Topic: Who sells the best jeans for cloth bums? Posted: 02 February 2008 at 8:43am |
So we agree that PP don't! Shame as they are really nice!
Wher's a good place to get nice denim jeans that fit over a fuzzi bum?

I would suggest either buying the next size up, or I have found the stuff at farmers to be quite a good size bum wise
Either that or we can usually get away with one insert to make the nappy nice and trim. Means a few more nappy changes during the day, but will fit in the jeans/pants.

I only ever use one insert during the day but his Xmas jeans are too tight already! Need a pair with elasticated waist I think.
A friend of mine has Minti jeans for her boy but they are $$$$$$$ and at the rate my fella is growing definiately not worth the mony!

I've done the same thing - Leo is wearing size 2 shorts that look adorable cause they're long but fit his cloth bum well. Otherwise, I found that JK with elasticated waistbands fitted heaps better than PP. I found the JK 12-18mth baby size fitted better than the 1 preschool size because it was the same width but shorter length. Otherwise, my favourite jeans are Bonds Baby! I picked some up during a trip to Oz (from Best & Less) and they fit great as they make a lovely wide-leg denim jeans & shorts with elasticated waists. Watch the sizes though as size 1 is actually up to 12mths, so size 2 is 12-24mths. They've always fitted Leo's cloth bum really well and are really good quality.

Mmmm - trying tnot to buy anymore nappies as I have about 15 - 20 mediums which is more than enough - although the Mummy's touch one size would have been a better idea than HC's and FB's I think.
Might try JK - he's only 8 months but the PP jeans were 9-12 so length wise they were a bit long. Might try older shorts or 3/4 and see how they go.
Mum sent me some Mothercare trousers from the UK and they are great! Might do a bit of a webb shop and see if she can post some more over!

Have you had a look on TM? There's usually quite a big of UK kids clothing for sale on there, I've definitely seen Mothercare stuff before.

Hope I'm not too late!
We bought a pair of awesome cargo jeans at the P&C show last year from Jack and Abby, they're only $16 each! They are really soft and light and can definitely handle a cloth bubble butt
The sizes are pretty weird though. Caitlin is still in 6-9mths and she's 18mths, 10kg and 81cms! If you're not sure on sizing give them a call, they are all really helpful and delivery is super fast (and you get a packet of choccy buttons LOL)

i must be weird... i would never have put my 5 mth old in jeans - in fact i think gabriels first jeans was when he was 3yrs old and that was for a special occasion...and i would never spend $16 on a pair of pants for kids either...

Just had a look and the J & A ones look groovy! Managed to pick up a pair at K Mart for $15 size 0 and they are still too big on Ro which is great! They stay up if he has his Fuzzi on!
Just waiting for all my TM shopping to arrive:)

I have ordered the larger size jeans for Sam and they should last her right through summer.
I spend...well too much on clothes for Sam. It's the girl thing - the clothes are just way too cute

For decent jeans I have spent $35 from PP. I just got the classic light weight ones,...no colours or patterns, so they went with everything, and she thrashed them! I buy other things on sale, so that I can get one or 2 things like that each season for Isla,...and I cant rember when I last got anything for me! Lol!
I stock up on cheaps stuff from t&t at there end of season sales, with the next size up for Isla to waert the follwing summer etc. Got cute as skirt $5, tops $3, and sunhat $3 for next summer, last week!

Im lucky tho cos MIL buys the majority of Isla's clothes,...so if I had to buy everything, it would probaly be a different story!
I miss the days of disposable incomes x2! Especially when we were in London! I have a pair of 100 pound boots in my wardrobe! Lol!
