Topic: fighting tiredness+lack of get up and go     Posted: 27 January 2006 at 8:16am |

This week has been so hard, i go to bed tired, wake up even more tired, (doesnt help that i am up 2-5 times a night to go loo or change position in bed).

I am wondering if my iron is low even though i am taking iron tablets, i am only taking one a day, but might need to take two a day.
I have also gone from working a full day to just working a few hours in the afternoon but still having to get up at 7am to take hubby to train station as we only have one car.
I do find if i sleep for about an hour sometime through the day i feel lots better, but i think i would just prefer to get a goods nite sleep.
 thanks for letting bleet on

I know how you are feeling The toilet in the night is what gets me,I had blood tests yesterday for my iron levels so hopefully if its low I will get tablets or injection and they will help

It sounds like it could be your Iron Levels, but Id suggest going and getting them checked out before taking any more tablets

Hi Kazzle, if its iron you think you might be low on then maybe try eating more red meat? And if you follow it down with orange juice then your absorbtion of iron will be much better, same with the iron pills you are taking. Vitamin C helps your absortion of iron so it can help you with that tired feeling.
And I know how hard it can be to get that full night's sleep when you are pregnant, unfortunately I found it just goes from bad to worse & if a day sleep is helping you feel less tired then just go with that. I have to admit having a sleep when Alex has his midday snooze!!!

im taking multi vits, iron tabs with vit c and i am getting b12 injections every month.

i see the midwife in 2 wks and she will have my blood test results, so will go from there.
I am feeling better today, as i had to take Kent to the train station, come home, have a shower, have breakfast, and go to work for an hour, so i am thinking part of it is that i am so use to a particular morning routine that maybe i need to stick to it, even though im not working mornings anymore.
I am going to keep active this morning as well, ive already been to work, done some shopping, in the process of cooking dinner for tonight for us and a client. and i might just do some baking as well before i go to work.
oh and of course inbetween all this, have some lunch and put my feet up for an hour.
I know i am feeling a little depressed at the moment as well, mainly because i dont know anyone around my area that is pregnant, and none of my friends can have children, so we are the only couple in our group that will be having kids, so apart from everyone here, i dont have any contact with any other pregnant ppl so i think i am feeling a bit lonely.

Thanks Ana, that really helps, when i see my midwife i am going to ask her about putting me in contact with some of her clients who are due around the same time that are in this area. plus i am meeting with a PAFT person in a couple of weeks, so will see how that goes.

I would love to meet some of you girls, (timing permitted), let me know when you are all getting together and i will try and make it.

Usually Tuesdays. I had you in mind to come to our next meet up.
 Is it next Tuesday Ana???
Otherwise I'm sure we could find another day. Or you could just meet up with Ana and I ?

And I hate to say it, but if your iron levels are fine then it could just be the tiredness that comes with 3rd trimester.

I'm exhausted too. I'm just lucky in that it's convenient for me to go to sleep in the afternoon when Han does

the biggest problem i have is that my work sheducle can change from day to day, depending on who calls in sick etc.

i finish work on the 17th March, but would really like to meet up before then.

I also dont drive in wgtn...its one of my goals for this year, ive just got my full licence (had my restricted for 6yrs lol), and i drive all the time but just not in town, its a confidence thing i think.

mind you it depends on where everyone meets up. I am even happy to have everyone come here if they want.
