I don't think you have to move her straight away. Once Daniel hit 6 months DH just got the follow on formula and we just switched straight away, didn't really slowly change him at all. Dunno if that's what you're meant to do.

I think as long as it's the same brand you can just switch over, that's what we did. You don't have to change over dead on 6 months either, i think Fay was 8 months - Plunket told me that the stage 2 milks have enough iron in them that if baby id not taking iron rich foods too well, the milk is enough of a supplement. It is also less fatty so that baby does not fill up on milk and is hungrier for solids, hope that makes sense, I'm a bit wooly headed this morning

I just switched from stage one straight to stage 2. I don't think it matters if you wait a couple of weeks or do it straight away. But I would stick to the same brand.

I dont think you necessarily have to switch immediately (maybe not at all....not sure on that).

The stage 2 has more iron in it, as when a baby is born they have enough iron stores to last them about 6 months and at 6 months you need to introduce more iron into their diet, either in milk or food, to replenish the stores. Also it is not as fatty as the first stage one, so makes baby feel hungry for solids more, so that at about 8-9 months they are getting a really good proportion of their energy, nutrients, etc from the solids rather than formula
 that was my understanding anyway
Edited as it looked as if Fay wrote the first version, I need to learn English I think

I think switching stright if in the same brand is OK. We are about to switch Gina to toddler milk as we just ran out of the stage #2 and we'll just do it at once.
