Topic: Help with Tomee Tippee toddler bottles Posted: 01 April 2008 at 9:34pm |
This thingy
I've just got a pack of the replacement straws for this bottle and they are different than any of the other packs we have
The end of the bendy straw bit that used to seal the lid is like a plug now (rather than sealing both top and bottom) and now it leaks all over the place! I'm sure this can't be right - I'm obviously doing something wrong with it or knowing my luck they've changed the design on me
HELP!!!!!
Thanks

I'm not sure, but the straws we got in the replacement kit were too long for the bottle so I ended up just using the brush to clean the original straws.

Yep, they have changed the straws at both ends so it now has a round mouthpiece and the seal part isn't compatable with the older bottle!!!! I have a new one now which I wasn't happy with doing, but had to cause Alyssa is so used to that thing now.
So yeah, you can't use the old style bottle anymore once the old straws break down, as well as the fact the new straws don't seem to last as long and I have already had to replace it twice in only a couple of months.
I'm planning to contact them to complain cause it blows!

So how old are the 'old' bottles? I am glad I came across this, I think - mostly because I have about three of the same type of TT bottles here waiting for me to get off my bum and buy replacement straw kits. I may as well just buy a new bottle by the sound of it?

I was wondering that too, Pearls. The one in the pic, is that the old straw or new one? Or can't tell from here?

I have one of those cups, and one of the slimmer cups with patterns on that is insulated. The straw is diff shape. Will go see if u ca swap the straws over. I always find it really hard to thread the straws back in.

Hey Toni, I read a post on another forum by a woman who had the same problem. She rang TT and they sent her out lids from the new cups to fit the new style straws. (The new lids still fit the older style cups)
Hopefully they'll do the same for you?

I e-mailed them today to complain..
Anywhooo...in case anyone is interested, here is a pic of the 2 different lids..the one on the left is the new style and the one on the right is the older one. The actual bottle part on both are the same..
Another thing I noticed today when I was at my mums place is that her "nuby" brand straw bottle seems to have exactly the same straw as the old style bottles! So I'm going to try it out in the Tommee Tippee one and see if it definitely fits. If so, then maybe we'll be able to buy nuby straws to replace the old ones?

Two Blondinis, which bit do you need? The bendy straw bit? I am just about to throw out Em's sippies like this one as they are leaking (for a different reason) but I have one brand new bendy straw part in the cupboard if you want it. PM me if you do. (Mind you, it might cost $4 to post it with NZ Post's new pricing, so might not be worth it!!!)

yep, we need the bendy straw bit. How much do you want for it? I know they're not cheap!
Don't worry about posting it - just give it to Emma next time you see her and I'll get it off her

I put the gremlins ones in their cots at night as they're in the habit of waking up at night for a drink of water.
We haven't had to replace our straws yet, but I did buy a replacement kit just to get the brush to clean the straw with, and then discovered that the new straw didn't fit the bottle anyway.

Well just to update you all, I e-mailed Tommee Tippee with my complaints yesterday and they have e-mailed me back today to confirm they will send out replacement lids for Alyssa's bottles as well as some more straws as I mentioned that the new style have not lasted as long. So yeah, it definitely pays to contact them if you are in the same boat as they are currently willing to rectify the problem. I think at some point they will probably stop sending out new lids though as surely they won't do it for everyone or they'll never sell any new bottles! hehe

Is there a particular website we can go to Pepsi? I will probably need to send out an email too.
