Mine comes from a slightly embarrassing story. I was flatting with my best friend and she was having trouble with her boyfriend at the time. She was really upset so I spent the night in her room, sharing the bed. Her bf came round early in the morning and found us asleep, saw (some of) my clothes on the floor and got the wrong end of the stick.
Later that day after reconciling they were talking about icecream and she told him her favourite flavour was caramel, he said "oh is that what you're calling her now?"
She's called me that ever since

About 8-10 years ago I used the handle paws4thought and still use that on TM...it simply got shortened to Paws. I don't have the heart to change it! I feel like I've been Paws forever now.

I was Fussy on Wedding Planners, cause I'm known to be a bit pedantic and anal about things! SO this time round I wanted something up beat and I thought Sparkle put me in a good light

Well my 'usual' forum name of kettle was taken, so I was trying to think of something I liked and thought arohanui was real pretty so just used that. I'm feeling like I wanna change it now though.....hmmm.....
BTW the story where 'kettle' came from has a much more interesting (and rather embarrassing?) story. When I was a teenager I was on a camp and we were all up late one night just talking and laughing (as you do) when because I was laughing so much, I got asthma (as you do lol, man I'm so like those geeks on tv who just have to take out their inhaler all the time). So I was wheezing like these big long whistles, and my friend was like "oh my goodness you sound like a kettle" and then my other friend was "bah yes, bright copper kettle cos of your hair!". So from that moment on, bright copper kettle I was (sound of music anyone?), shortened to kettle.
And as an aside, that same friend bought me and DH a whistling kettle when we got married... lol, awesome...

Mine is a mixture of two nicknames I have had for years.
Red is from being Red Claire for about 10 years, as opposed to Blond Claire, Dark Clare, Irish Claire and Bald Claire (aka Paul, my best friends brother) There was just a lot of claire/Clares in my group of really close friends. Blond's husband has only recently found out that I am Claire as he has known me as Red for years. Any way Red was taken.
Bedrocks comes from a misunderstanding. Neil booked a holiday in Derbyshire, we had no car at the time so travelled the 150 miles on a combination of bike and train. Spent 2 days cycling accross the Peak district, to finally arrive at the accommodation (half dead with exhaustion) for the guy to say no bookings for neil Beckett, but we spotted a booking for Ned bedrock further up the page for the exact same holiday and wondered if his teenage daughter who took the booking had got a bit mixed up on the phone
So we have been Ned and Red Bedrock ever since, there is even a pie shop in Australia called ned and Red's which we will own at some point in the future it is meant to be.
sorry very long story and you probably had to be there for it to be funny
