Topic: I Say this quite often but.... Posted: 18 June 2008 at 9:21pm |
I love my husband!
After we lost the baby he suggested we kept on buying bits and pieces every fortnight as we were going to have a baby eventually.
I have avoided this as it was a bit soon, and less exciting with an empty tum.
He says to me last night, "are you ok? you have not bought any baby stuff since we found out... its not like you to not take me up on shopping!"
I just thought that was so cute. I just read on the general chat that T&T are having a 50% off sale. Think I might go buy some baby growers.

What a sweetie!!!
So true, our DHs/DPs put up with quite a lot of our baby-crazed TTCing antics!! Couldn't do without them really!!

Mel- that is *so* cute of DH What a star.
I feel the same way about DP. He is so supporting, even though it must be hard for men to see the real angst we sometimes go through TTC. Aren't we a lucky bunch?!

Yeah, we are pretty lucky.
I keep looking at the pram I fell in love with. I know everyone raves about Moutain Buggy's and Phil & Teds, but I really liked the Steelcraft Strider 3 from baby city.
I also fell in love with the Jungle themed linen they have in there

I put together a list of the things that we will need once we get our BFP. I started looking on the internet at prices and was really shocked at how expensive everything is. We might need to get a few things off Trademe but you never know the history which is a bit concerning. Has anybody started to buying baby stuff? I agree that if you are able to get it on sale it will save money in the long run. My DH said that we should wait until we are pg as it might take some time but I just love looing at the baby stuff.

We have bought a pram Megs. Its was on special so couldnt resist. But apart from that nothing really. DH said he'd rather start getting the big ticket stuff now but I will wait until our BFP before we do that.
I too love looking at baby stuff . We are going to go to the preg and babies expo at the end of this month to see whats out and about and hopefully pick up some good deals or discounts we can save up for future use

wow, you are lucky that you DH will look at baby stuff with you, mine hates shopping and would not be caught even glancing at baby stuff..lol. I almost can not be trusted to go to the mall as I have a look at the baby sales and soo tempted to buy something. Enjoy the preg and baby expo, fingers crossed that you will be UTD at the time

My DH likes looking at baby stuff too. Before our BFP, we had a deal where we would go to babycity the JB hifi as they were next door to each other.
Now we go to all the baby places. We will definatelty be getting a cot and wooden change table off trademe. Then I will sand them back and restain or paint. FIL will make sure they are stable etc. I will second hand where I can.
Things that I will definately buy new are pram, mattress, change mat, car seat and cloth nappies.

I saw my Nana today, and she said she just bought a cot for my cousin (who is about 18 weeks pregnant) and said she buys all the cots so will buy me one when I get pregnant again! yay! And my dad and step mum already said they would buy the pram lucky us! Now i just need to get UTD (my new favourite abbreviation) so that can happen

I love baby stuff! (maybe even more than actual babies hehe)
I've decided I am going to start stocking up if there are good sales on. Plus if i start getting fat pre-preg I can always pull my maternity jeans out of the wardrobe
