Topic: cyst symptoms Posted: 19 July 2008 at 9:38pm |
im a bit confused as to what my body is doing at the mo. about a week and a half ago my dr found a 4cm cyst which is all good but i had a +ve OPK on CD 11, 12 + 13 which can apparently be caused by the cyst, but i felt OV pain on the opposite side. im now finding my boobs are killing me, my tummy feels slightly AF ish although more tired and achey as opposed to crampy, i had to do an emergency vomit dash friday morning although i didnt spew and im sleeping heaps more. when i had my shower 2nite i found i had massive chunks of CM which was definitly not EWCM. im now CD 22 and havent temped since CD 13 cos my dr said there was no point till the cyst is gone. has anyone else experienced any of this with cysts and how long before it bursts or AF arrives?

I had one that burst about 10 years ago, I think my main symptoms were stomach pain all day and it got worse and worse until I couldn't sit down as I'd get sharp pains shooting through me. But I didn't know what was wrong till about then, as that's when I went to the doc so not sure if I had any problems in the days before.
Worth checking out though as it doesn't sound good.

I wish I could remember, but like chelle mine was about 10 years ago and was picked after it burst.
I would call your specialist tomorrow and check it out, better to be safe!

my doc said to go back when i started bleeding and he'd do a scan to see if i had gone or grown bigger, from what i've heard though i would definitly hurt when it burst so i assume its still there. my hormones are running everywhere though causing my sore boobs and nausea and stuff. i just want it to end so i can get on with it. im a personal trainer and ive been told not to do strenuous exercise and i feel like im gonna turn into a big blob :(

I have cysts that burst all the time on my ovaries (and I can't wait till they are removed for that reason). I get servere pain on the side that it is (usually the right hand side) and I have to take drugs for it (usually tramadol) and just rest for a few days till it has pasted back into my body. I don't just get them at Ov time I can get them any time. Last time my gyne was in taking a look at my bits (Feb 2005) there were about 3 cycts waiting to burst, the nurse wanted to take them out but my gyne didn't want to as it would probably end up with a major bleed and lose of ovary. I don't usually bleed out with them as they just go back into my body.
I wouldn't do strenous exercise but light stuff would be ok.

can you still OV? my doctor said i probably wouldnt so i have been charting but i took my temp at normal time this morning for the hell of it and its way up?

ill take it again 2mrw and see what it does
ETA: if i OV'd from the side i felt pain could it have happened CD 12, which would make be 11DPO, maybe AF will come as normal despite the cyst which would explain the boobs and the 'i must have chocolate' problem i am facing.

I don't know much about charting, but there is always any chance you could be pregnant and the cyst could be the "leftovers" from the egg that left the ovary and you are pregnant. I know when I went for my first scan with Andrew the person doing the scan told me I had a cyst that had burst recently.
