Hello,
My little guy (coming up 7 months) is on three meals a day, and I am making an effort to feed him as much homemade food as possible - but I need some inspiration!

Breakfast he has fruit and baby muesli
Lunch he has been having cubes of chicken, carrot and potato, followed by some banana
Dinner is cubes of chicken, kumara and brocolli, and then I offer some more fruit

I'm not quite ready to offer red meat (a couple more weeks I think), but am after some ideas of different combinations I can try him on for lunch and dinner with chicken as the protein.

Thanks xx

pumpkin, pear or a combination of both. i used to mix pear with lots of stuff. avocado, hummus, apple mixed with kumara and pumpkin was a hit here too.

about then thomas used to like chicken, couscous, pumpkin and courgette. basically just mix a little couscous with the veges to bind them together, he really liked texture and wouldnt eat puree so he loved that one!

you could do chicken and apricot casserole and give him that with mashed veges

i found anything in the crockpot was good for bub, was nice and soft and easy to eat for him, so would do tomatoey lamb casseroles, beef casserole etc then freeze thomas sized portions in muffin tins

I've got cubes of pear, apple, mango, kumara, pumpkin and carrots in the freezer which I mix and match for some meals.
I like the idea of couscous - is that ok for a 6 month old?

At that age I gave the baby whatever we were eating (or had eaten the previous night), just so long as it wasn't crunchy or spicey. Mince and chicken were the main meats, oh and probably sausages. Just mash em up with a fork, plenty of veges, a bit of warm water or gravy to make the right consistency, and there you go!

A bigger range of veges might be the go!

Swede, parsnip, cauliflower, pumpkin, zucchini, grean beans, celery are all in season atm

A few more options will open up once he is 8mths to add to the variety eg spinach, peas...
