Hi, I have just had my pregnancy confirmed by blood test. (Have got to keep an eye on my bloods as mc last time) This will be my first pregnancy other than a mc. Going off my bloods I have only just implanted. I am experiencing some lower back ache and a very dull pain almost like period pain but no where near as bad, and only every now and then. Is this normal or should I be prepared to mc again? your experiences would be great, thankyou.

Dotty congratulations on your BFP and welcome to Ohbaby! Happy & Healthy pregnancy to you. I have just had a MC myself but I didnt experience any back pain. I did however have back pain when I first found out I was pg as I thought AF was on her way. The back pain your getting could just be baby getting comfy

Can you ask your GP for an early scan to put your mind at ease? Sending you lots of sticky baby dust and vibes

Hi, I am on my third pregnancy, I had a mc in March. The pain you are describing is normal, kind of a bit crampy like AF is on her way, it is just things stretching and changing cos of the pregnancy. It normally stops after the first few weeks but can be quite worrying, I know I freaked out with my first pg cos of it.
If it does get painful though rather than uncomfy then speak to your gp straight away. It's very unusual to have more than one mc in a row so try to relax. Are they going to check your hcg levels again?

Congrats on your pregnancy. I too had crampy period like pains in the abdomen in the very early weeks. I also knew when implantation had occured because everything felt really tender just after my ovulation time so I knew I was preggers but had to wait until my period would have been due to take the pee test so there would be enough hcg to register! The cramping eased off at about 6-7 weeks. Good luck with your next hcg.

Congrats on your pregnancy! I know exactly where you're coming from. I had a mc last year, but no pain leading up to it. This time around I had a lot of pain exactly like what you're describing. It had me really worried (as you can imagine) and at 6 weeks along I even ended up in hospital overnight because the pain got so intense. In spite of that though, as you can see, it has all turned out well so far

I hope the same happens for you! Remember that even though you mc last time, it doesn't increase your chances that the same will happen this time. (Phew!) There is every chance that you'll be holding this little one in your arms.

Hang in there, I know how unsettling it can be. Try to see the pain as a good thing - my midwife has since said to me that that kind of pain is completely normal. Thank goodness because I still get a similar ache quite frequently. The best thing to do is try to relax and accept rather than fight it - take some panadol if you need to.

Hope this helps. Big hugs

Hi,
Not really up with it yet on week terms! I am just over 5 weeks since last period, Gyni thinks I ovulated late. Will find out more next week after bloods, but all seems to be going well!

The weeks start from the first day of you last period. LMP is what the docs etc call it. So you would be 5 weeks, however when you have a scan they will give you a more accurate date as the variation in ovulation can cause it to be out a bit. Like with me I had a 7 week scan that put me 3 days ahead of where my LMP had me.

Hi, Wonder if you ladies can help me again. I am experiencing a little bit of brownish spotting. Not much, just when I wipe really, no red blood as yet, got ever so slight stomach ache, but nothing really. I have had a busy day in the garden and cleaning, could this cause it? or am I heading for another mc? I know I just have to sit it out but I'm going crazy.

I'm so sorry Dotty. Make sure you go and see the doc if the pain gets really bad and go and see doc tomorrow either way as they may want to do more hcg tests and just keep a general eye on you.

Again so sorry, take care of yourself

Just spoken to Gyni, she said it doesn't look good and I have to go in for bloods in the morning. I just can't believe it has happened again.

Sorry to hear that dotty. Not all brown spotting/red bleeding/tummy cramps end badly - speaking from my own experience. As well as the cramps I had early on, I also had brown spotting on a daily basis but a scan at 7 wks confirmed all okay, by 8 weeks it turned into red blood, 9 weeks I had a huge gush of blood at work with pains in my tummy, after a rush to A&E and getting checked out, more scans and blood tests, everything was fine, but the spotting/bleeding continued on a daily basis. Had a big bleed again with a bit of clotting at 12 weeks so was all a big drama again with a late night trip to the hospital, more blood tests, scans etc. Again, all turned out okay and no explanation for the bleeding. Everything seemed okay again except the spotting continuing but had a massive gush of blood again at 16 weeks. Repeat trip to hospital etc. I definitely thought that was it and was a wreck by that stage. But all turned out okay and no one could tell me why I kept bleeding so much. Bubs wasn't troubled by it all and now I have my little girl. So don't fret and if you are worried about the bleeding, just keep telling your LMC and maybe even go straight to the hospital emergency department and insist they arrange a scan or even an internal to check your cervix is still closed (like I did - I wouldn't leave until I was happy with what they could tell me and a referal for a scan asap). My thoughts are with you and I hope it all works out for you this time.
