Topic: when did your first bubs move? Posted: 10 April 2006 at 10:59am |
I'm 15 weeks pregnant today, and since last Saturday night, have felt tiny movements in the evenings that feel like they're from my womb... but I know you shouldn't expect to feel a baby move in your first pregnancy so early on...
I'm just wondering (because I'm sure I'm not the only one to say "is that my baby, no, I think it's the pasta sauce, or maybe it's gas!!" - ahhh, things NOT to tell your child one day "yes, I confused you with a tiny fart").
Soooo... when did you ladies start to feel your first little baby move? If the consensus is much later than 15 weeks, I'll stop getting so sentimental about these exceptionally tiny 'movements' I'm feeling, and wait a few weeks before I start raving about them!
The other thing is - they're not uniform. First it felt like something I imagine a kick would be like, but tiny, very tiny. Next night it felt tickly, like even tinier bubbles (but not those sorts of bubbles if you're wondering what I'd eaten that night!).

i felt my first movements at around 15wks, but it wasnt until i was about 20 wks that i was certain and it was about 24wks before kent felt any movement.
at 15wks it almost felt like butterflies in my stomach, and if i lay on my back and put my hand under my stomach and just waited i could feel tiny kicks.
oh its so exciting.

I thought I felt something during week 15 as well and then have felt a few more movements last week....I'm pretty sure it is bubs after talking to others...(rather think it is bubs than a fart anyway! )

I was about 16 weeks when I first felt a tickling sort of sensation (it made me giggle) people must have thought I was mad!! I was about 19/20 weeks before I knew wihtout a doubt it was baby.

I have been wondering about this too...
I have been feeling some movements too, but I am not sure they are baby. It feels liek a very light muscle twitching in my tummy - which leads me to belive it is a very small muscle twitching in my tummy LOL! But I am hoping that maybe it is baby?
Do your movements feel the same? Are the like a tiny twitch?

I felt my first at about 15 weeks as well (I only remember because it was around the time of my wedding!). I was unsure as well, but as the weeks wore on, I was certain by about week 18 that it was bubs moving around.
I never got the whole butterflies feeling. Mine were more of a twitchy muscle type thing frantic, so you never know! You'll realise probably in a few weeks that you're not just imagining things

Ooooohhhhh... so I'm not silly for being excited about this after all! I was suprised at 12 weeks when my midwife could hear a kick while listening for the heartbeat, but really thought you had to be 18 - 20 weeks along before feeling anything. I guess I'll know for sure as time goes on and baby gets bigger. Pretty exciting prospect, knowing for sure when it's the little one wriggling about. Thanks, guys!

Well with my first munchkin I was feeling little kicks on about the 16th week and it was like soft quick tiny "thuds"...This time I have not really felt anything at all (boo hoo)...and I am 18 weeks. (I have established that the little one is probably having a good old kick in there but the only thing thats getting it is the Placenta!)

i felt it round 18weeks but caitlyn has always taken her time about things, to me it was more like a little tug than butterflies.
