I have a voicemail message and I have no credit on my phone to retrieve it.

Make sure your phone is switched off (cellphone). Dial the cellphone number and as soon as you hear the voicemail greeting start to play, press the * key. You will need to enter your PIN, and then can go ahead and listen to your messages as normal.

Hopefully I have remembered it right - LMK if that works or not! (As I used to have the same issue sometimes...)

Your phone doesn't need to be turned off.

Just press ignore when the phone rings and it'll go straight to the voicemail where you continue as pearls said.
