QuoteReplyTopic: have you decided what part DAD will play? Posted: 09 May 2006 at 2:31pm
I have decided that Dad can have showers with Baby. He can go get him and bring him to me in the midlle of the night for feeds if he is not somewhere in my arms reach!
Um...Dad can take him out for a big walk on the weekend days so I can sleep or play with Paige or run away and hide!
Oh and I am very happy for him to change and be taught right from the word go to change Nappies!!!
My partner wants to do everything. This is his first so he says he's not given his son to anyone. Everywhere he goes his son does too and thats fine by me.
my hubby was totally hands on especially since we bottle feed. There is nothing I do that he didnt and it will be the same this time round. We take turns at everything and get up together during the night although we might take turns this time round seening as we have to get up for Kobe at 7am and cant go back to bed after the morning feeding like we did with him
I insisted that my fiancee learn to change nappies & he always enjoyed "daddy time".
There wasn't a huge amount of things that he did with Alex when he was a baby. Other than the above he only occasionally showered with him & stuff like that.
But now that Alex is older he does HEAPS with him. On nice days he takes Alex to work with him if he can and when he is home he quite often has Alex out in the garage with him "playing" with tools and he takes him for rides on Alex's little quad too.
Mum to Alex (11), Blaire (10) & Erika (8) and Damien (6)
My husband has already stated very firmly for teh record that he will not be changing any nappies - his view is that since he picks up all the dog poo I can deal eith the baby poo . other than that he is prepared to do everything else...personally i havent fought it cos i hate dog poo and would swap it for baby poo any day!
my dh has bathed xanthe from day one, i can remember a check up and the doc asked me something and i said "um, i dont actually know, i dont see her without her clothes on..." so will do the same with baby #2 as well. it is a 15 minute quiet time for me that i love and i dont want to give it up!
Lyla - mum to
