Isobelle is 4 months old now and we are having wrapping issues. She appears to hate her wrap and crys when I wrap her but she just can't get to sleep without being wrapped. I'm wondering if it is the way I do it. How do you wrap your baby?

we had this problem but kept wrapping him as he wouldn't sleep any other way.. we did in the end instead of wrapping whole body we lay the wrap out flat and the placed baby in the middle and pulled side of wrap over arm and under body..and repeated other side.. and that worked for a few more months before we eventually got rid of the wrap(took a few times) ..he was safety sleeped as well though.. E wouldn't sleep with one arm out..

do you have an 11 month old and a 4 month old?

edited to make more sense:)

Is she too hot? Does she like suckling her fingers/thumb? You can wrap and leave one arm out, or feet out if she doesn't like her feet hot. Otherwise you could try a loose wrap - she will get out of it but she might have a preference for that?

How about a Safety Sleep?  It might give her the cosy wrapped feeling without being too restricted.

She is a very, very sucky baby! She has a dummy but she does like to suck her fingers and thumbs. The way I wrap her allows her to get her hands up to her mouth and she can suck them through the wrap but she is still unhappy in it. I've found that if I let her have an arm out then she just wacks herself in the face and ends up getting upset. I always make sure she is dressed comfortably and we have a fan on her when it is really hot so I don't think it is a temperature issue.
We used to use a safety sleep but gave up on it because it was too hot. Might give it another go today and see how she likes it.
Just had a look at Dominic's ticker and I definately don't have an 11month old, he is 23months. I am so glad I don't have an 11month old and a 4 month old...not sure that's even possible?

I would say she is too hot? Its pretty muggy at times and being wrapped she would get quite hot.

have you tried a safe t sleep? Thats what we moved Caden to once we stopped wrapping him, he still slept well cos it made him feel secure. She would get more hot being wrapped than being in the safe t sleep.

we had Ethan in muslin wraps and safety sleep all through summer last year:) just less clothes..they told us not to aim fan right at him so we had it a way away or spinning around?.. she sounds just like E likes to suck and being wrapped(he had dummy, wrap and safety sleep for a long time:)
