Hi All
I am pretty new to this forum and am really finding it helpful but I hope you may be able to help me with this one.
After suspecting I was pregnant last week I took a HPT the day before AF was due (last Thurs) I got a faint positive then and same with 8 more tests throughout the weekend (which I have been discussing in another part of the forum). I went to the doctor on Monday to see it it was positive and the PT at the doctor came up faint also. I was sent for some blood tests which I took mid morning. I asked at medlab when the results would be back and was told that afternoon. So I called the nurse at the GP office around 4.30pm that day to ask if they had come in. After having to call back again and then holding for ages I was told the test was inconclusive and the doctor would call me the next morning but she was quite rude, as if I was bothering her. Anyway, the same nurse called the following day around 4pm and asked me to come back on Thursday (yesterday) for more bloods which I did at around 10am.
I heard nothing from them yesterday after the test and after hearing nothing by 2pm today called to see what was happening as I didn't want to have to wait the whole weekend. The nurse was busy and I was told she would call me back which she still hasn't. Surely with this kind of test they would know that I am dying to find out the results and not snap at me when I call!!
My question is - Do you have a recommendation of a GP that I could perhaps move to as I'm just not happy with the service I've received over the last few months since my original doctor left.
Man, what is it with grumpy nurses! If you don't like people, then you shouldn't be a nurse. I had a very blunt nurse the other week as well, I like my Dr though but she is over in Mt Roskill which is a pain to get to sometimes, so I would be interested to hear peoples recommendations as well.
dunno if this is too late but I have the best doctor in the whole world. Dr Latham at avondale medical centre. You often have to wait a little to see her but she take her time with your consultation and makes sure you understand everything and are happy. I have had an hour consultation with her. Usually about 25 mins but she will take as long as you need and never ever rush you!
