I have just got a new phil & ted dash pram and sold the sport, out of curiosity i was just scrolling through the P&Ts on trademe and read a question about a particular model having a faulty break.......
Im very curious to know which one is faulty incase i now have a faulty one????
I think maybe they are referring to the DUMB brake on the Sport Model. It is sooooo stiff and hard to use that it could almost be called a fault. it has not been recalled or anything though so it is safe just very stiff!
yeah that was one of the things i hated on the sports! if i had jandals on i would have to bend down and put break on or release!! and the huge jolt it made when doing so would always wake astin up!!!
Yip, it bugs be soooo much. Just being nosey - did you sell your sport on TM? How much did you get for it. I am considering selling mine to buy the dash. Mine would have the doubles kit and single storm/sun shade.
Yup i sold it on TM for $400 with the storm and sun covers but i didnt have the doubles kit.
I love the look of the dash but the vibe was not my kind of thing really. the handle doesnt bug me having to use 2 hands but that could be cos i was so over the sports break! lol i just got a little concerned that i had bought a pram with a fault!
So i have searched all over the net and have found that the first dashs released last year had a fault with the handle where the break would lock on if you leant on the handle to get it up a curb and then after a few times the handle would just brake!! apparently that was just the first batch.......we hope!
I had one that was faulty - when I went up the kerb the handle got locked down and it was such a pain. I got in contact with Baby on the Move who I had purchased it off and Phil and Teds were awesome about replacing the whole frame - no questions asked and didn't even look at it. The new handle is awesome - really strong and completely different feeling. I am really pleased I chose the dash model now where as earlier I had almost wished I just went with the sport. If you have any doubts just contact them.
I have a Dash that had a faulty brake, but has been replaced by P&T through the retailer that is was bought from, don't know if its the same with all of them but old one that broke had grey buttons and new one has red buttons. Hope that helps
