Wow I hate work I have been back also two weeks and just can't stand it.

First week the office manager had the temp stay on to sit with me to show me what to do!!!!! This week has been a nightmare poor bubs got a bug and I have been home most of the week - I don't think this has got down well. I went in last night to do some work and I got asked why I was there, I asked the boss if he had a problem and he said it was fine. Well somebody else had interred with my job and I recopied two pages of something and put it out again - oh my god. So the OM said to me today when I finally got to work this afternoon that they will keep a record of when I am away and go from there that I'm not to come in again at night and do work as it is a waste of time and I am just doubling up (my role is very separate from others and nobody is doing it). I got questionned what I did - so I had to list the things I had done!!!! She has no clue what I do and the other main job in the office is the only job that needs to get done! Pity the poor girl can't do the job by herself. The OM isn't the best with computers so she forwards me things she should be doing cause she can't work them out and do them herself.

A couple of times now I have talked to the boss and the OM has gone behind my back so the plans that I have put in place with the boss get changed it is so frustrating. I can't even have a phone conversion with others in the building without getting questionned. The temp and them changed things and they don't work but I am strictly not allowed to change and go back to my way - in my job image is everything and some things they have done just don't work.

Something happened with a programme today and it affects me and the other girl set about fixing it but hasn't filled me in on when it was all about - and I couldn't be bothered asking it is just rude.

So how do I handle this

the butting in of phone calls

the not allowed to go in after hours (like I should really care - but hubby is self employed and can't stay home)

the interring of plans I make with others

the interring of what I am doing in my JOB

them leaving the room to whisper about me (and they do)

then checking up what I have been doing on my computer

DO I tackle the boss and what do I say to the other 2 in the office as I am really sick of it - I have been there longer than them (they started at the same time and a CLOSE) I have just finished six months away but I just want out but have no other options at the moment.

I feel like they are trying to push me out.

This is how pathetic they are I just got a new car and they went out and looked and them came in and asked why I changed and that I must be getting paid a lot as how could I afford to run it!!!!

So what do I do .......

hey Hannibal - no real advice but wanted to offer you hugs as i have been in a similar position in a previous job and know how rotten you must be feeling

Are you a member of a Union? They may be able to help

Keep an eye out for other work - not sure what field you are in.

I have had 3 days in 8 weeks off either sick or looking after my sick DD since she started at daycare and has brought every cold bug in existence home with her . . . i dread to think how that is going down in my office, being a new job and all . . .

remember that you have a gorgeous new baby to cuddle, and don't let anyone else grind you down - you are so much better than them

ETA once piece of advice is to keep a written note of incidents and comments said so you have a written record of the bullying behaviour if you ever need it

Aww hugs hun, very awful being in a situation like that. I agree Susiec about documenting everything that is happening. I would also take some time out to have a chat with your boss about it then when enough is enough and if it doesnt get better I would slap a personal grievence on them. This is the sort of action that will have them all running for cover....pretty hard to do though once you have covered all your bases like documenting incidents, speaking to the boss etc, they wont have anywhere to run for cover. I totally understand how you are feeling as I had this happen to me right down to the checking what I had did on the computer, checking my appointment times in my work diary etc. All you need to keep in the back of your mind is you are building a great case against them and they are only like this because they are either threatened or jealous of you......infact probably both so hold ya head up high and smile. They will get theirs... Karma gets them everytime

not sure what interring is.. sorry.

if you have been on leave for a while maybe you should just lay low for a couple of weeks till you have got back into the swing of things and take note off all the things that arent working and make a plan of how to improve and why and take it to your boss.. ignore the petty stuff for a bit, they might get sick of it if you ignore it. if you are carrying this other person and the jobs arent covered under your contract you need to talk to the boss about that too. and they are right tho if you go in at night and dont know whats already been done and re do it they are having to pay you for work already done, and from a company perspective that is not good.

Thanks guys - it was only one sheet of something that was recopied! Our jobs are really quite separate (I can do each job in the office) but the others haven't a clue at all on what I do - they don't know how to operate the program so I know that apart from the one sheet nothing else was doubled up on at all. I tackled the boss today I was told by him that the situation wasn't practical (sorry can't control when a baby is sick!!!) and that he wasn't that happy with it happening all the time (one lame excuse was I couldn't cover lunch breaks) I tried to explain that I wanted to complete work so others could get the information out - so needless to say I still feel like I am getting shafted! So the record of it all will begin.

It must be hard .. going back to work, then having a sick bubba!

I can kind of see where your boss (and co workers) are coming from, it must be a PITA to have someone away alot, just when they start back .. and I understand about the lunch breaks .. if my admin person isnt in the office, then I pretty much dont get lunch as someone has to be there .. so that would be me lol

In saying that .. if I wasnt happy with my working situation I would move on ... only because I my job and I work in such a fantastic environment and they literally work around me and my new role as a Mum, and I think everyone should have that
Mummy to Issy (3) and Elias (18 months)

I did it .. 41 kgs gone! From flab to fab in under a year LFs weight blog
