We had trouble conceiving our second child. Our first was a suprise so we thought number 2 would happen easier! but no! 15 months of full on TTC and MCs as well then we finally had our second son!. 3rd time around we thought it would take just as long as #2 but it happened first month!!.

We didnt do anything inparticular. I went to fertility specialist and had tests done but obviously my body just needed a scare! bcos i got pregnant the week after apntmnt!

Sorry thats not much help!

AM in the same boat.

Number 1 easy as. Tried for 2months and voila pregnant. A year later we dieceded to try for number 2.....that was 2 1/2 years ago.

Went to doctor and diagnosed me with PCOS (would explain absent monthly friend thought it was what happened after having a baby but no).

Have been FA 3 times and have done varied treaments since. Secondary infertility is on the rise and no one can explain it.

I have no quick fix for you but to keep persevering, be positive, and keep positive people around you ( i am sick of people telling me how lucky i am to have one, when they often have 2 or 3 themselves).

Sending baby dust your way

Hi,

I am in the same scenario. My daughter came along after only two months off the pill, so we thought we'd have no issues with number two. So far it's been 8 months of trying with no success.

Starting to get very concerned that there's something wrong with me or my husband but not sure when we should start seeking medical advice. Especially since I've been charting and know that I'm ovulating, and been timing BD perfectly!!

I had a caesar with my daughter and can't help think that that's something to do with it?

It's great to be able to see there's other couples in the same boat, as ALL the other Mums in my coffee group who've gotten pregnant second time around keep joking about "It only takes one time" and it definitely has not been like that for us.

It's so emotionally hard, we theoretically should be in the prime baby-making situation (young-ish, non smokers, don't drink excessively, eat pretty well, exercise etc), but I guess it's just not meant to be just yet.

Staying as positive as possible is definitely the key, and keep thinking that the right baby will find you soon!

Hope it happens for you ladies soon, keep me posted!!

We are in the same boat. We fell 4 months after being off mini pill, was very unexpected.
We didn't think we would have any problems with no.2. I was terrified of getting pregas too close to my son so I went on the DEPO injection for 9 months until DS was 16mths. We started trying, but not really just not being careful coz we thought it'd happen like last time. after a year I started taking stress out of my life and was trying to all things right. I sent for a saliva tester and started charting, kind of. We went to the Drs and had initial test carried out and an app with a OBGYN booked. I was still at home with DS and a part time teaching job came up doing my DH principal release, so I thought It my take my mind off things for a while so took it. Eveyone says just stop trying, stop thinking about it and it will happen.
We moved from Hawkes Bay to myDH home town in Taranaki in Sept 07 and thought that it might once again take some pressure off.
I began following my cycles properly in Apr 08 and had 1st BFP June 08, however that was ectopic. We had another BFP straight after that in Sep08 but MCd.
So we are still trying 4 yrs later, heading to Fertility associates Aug 11th.
Want this mnth to be BFP so we dont have to go there.

I had the same problem, was easy first time around but to fall pregnant second time was two years trying off and on (maybe abit more as I gave up even thinking off the months as was way too hard!). I was seriously thinking of giving up after we had a break for 6mths or so - but lucky for us we got pregnant first time. I honestly think the reason was stress out of my DH's life (getting a new job) that finally did it for us. I hope it doesn't take too much longer for you guys, its so hard when you want a baby so bad!!!

Hi guys- just wanted to know if any of you have tried accupuncture (I'm doing IVF as we wont concieve naturally) but have heard great results from others. Maybe worth a go? A girl I know was trying for years- had accupuncture and conceived.

Hey Again,

I've actually just started seeing an accupuncturist. She's really lovely and I've already noticed that I've been a whole heap more relaxed this past week. (I told her that I wanted to enjoy having sex again and become one of those people who didn't know what day her period was due...) I feel a lot more at ease about TTC, so that in itself is a huge relief for me.

We'll see in a couple of weeks whether it's helped us conceive this month.

Our first was an "Oopsy", we never thought having a second child would be a problem So when we actually started TTC, it took 6 years!! Had to to IVF, now we have a 12 year old, a 21mth old... and then I fell pregnant straight away (without IVF) so we also have a 3 mth old.

hi ladies,
I am in the same vote, my son is 16, took 2 years to conceive him, but managed it naturally, went down the Fertility specialis road when he was 4, attempted IUI for 2 cycles, didnt work, they blamed PCOS and I was what they reckoned to be overweight, so gave up, as that marriage was falling apart. Now I am in a new wonderful mariage, and would love to have another, took 1 yr before my GP would refer me to Gyno, took him another year and 2 ops later to finally refer me to Fertility specialist again, we opted to go public as I knew I need to lose some weight, 6 months down the track we finally got our 1st appointment, took 20mins to fill out forms spoke with Dr for about 20mins, and then she told us she had some letters to write can we ring her in 4 weeks time, 4 weeks was up yesterday, I phoned she was busy, and she finally phoned me back at 3.40pm when I was out on farm working, so am waiting to see what happens today. I just want to know what options they are going to give me, the day we had our visit with her she did say IVF, feel like my time is running out, I going to be 40 next year...

Really gets to me when people so at least you got one already...sometimes people just dont when not to say anything, my mans neice got pregnant with her 2nd cycle of clomid, my SIL said to me man that must upset you when you been on it for 6 months, I just said at least she not going through what we been through...the overweight thing really gets to me too, i know a couple of people that are and they both get preggers when they say they are ready...

I am way more relaxed this time round, but it is so hard to say positive and paitent.

Hope all is positive for everyone else out there...
