Just wondering for those of you who have tried anything in the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature range, what do you think about it?

Like the bottles, pacifiers, breast pumps and breast pads.

I really like the idea of the whole range, but haven't used any of it yet, as baby is due in Feb, so can't try it out yet.

I've got 1 Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottle so far and 1 pacifier and 1 pk of the breast pads and looking into the breast pump. So I would love to know what you all think of the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature range and how you found them, before I go mad buying stuff in their range.

The bottles were fantastic, Hollie was breastfed and those bottle were all she'd take for a long time once we started switching her to formula

I formula fed Sam from very early on and I had a few of those closer to nature ones.   He didn't breastfeed at all from me so didn't have anything to compare it to but he took to them really well and we had no problems.

I am going to get some of the closer to nature breastpads tomorrow to try them out so will let you know!   The Homebrand ones are pretty hopeless.

Oh and this time around I bought some Avent bottles for EBM and he hates them so I might go and get some closer to nature bottles too.

I used the bottles (nothing to compare them to but I thought they were good) and the manual breast pump which was great.

I think I've tried the whole range!! (I bought the started kit)
Love the pump - its super easy to use and wash!!
I have no problems getting DS to feed from the bottles.
I tried the breast pads and I prefer the pigeon brand disposables but I'm now using reusables (baby first and pea pods)
DS hates the C2N dummies and much prefers the regular tommee tippee ones - not that I'm complaining given they are half the price. I have heard great things about the nuk brand - which I'm going to test drive on him next.

You can get the disposable ones from the supermarket. I got them from Woolworths, so I assume Countdown stock them too.

Not sure where you get the re-usable ones from.

I do have some of the Nuk bottles, as they were of course a bit cheaper then Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature ones. I got a package deal for $50 I think. Which has 2 small bottles, 2 big bottles, a thermal bottles bag, a bib and a bottle brush. I think Nuk were going for the same idea teat wise as Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature.

I used buy now to buy a Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature breast pump on trademe yesterday. As it was only $40 and I was worried someone might go buy it before me.

I will be breastfeeding anyway, so that's why I liked the idea of Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles. So when I need some time out my partner can still feed the baby. I figured she'll be less likely to reject the bottle if it is similair to a mothers breast. Back when I had my 1st daughter 6 yrs ago they never had the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature range. I think I mainly used Avent bottles back then.

Also, another question while I'm here.

Do you think sterilisers are worth spending the money on or is it just as practical using the dishwasher?

Are there other ways to sterilise bottles other then with a steriliser?

I love my steriliser. It is an avent microwave one and is so handy. I just keep it in the microwave so it is out of the way all the time. (We don't really use it for much else) I love how quick and easy it is to use, esp when you are using the breast pump regularly.

The dishwasher is not suitable for sterilsing.

True. Well I guess I should look at buying a steriliser then aye.

Can you use boiled water from the jug to sterilise? Or is a steriliser that best option?

My sister inlaw used the bottles and loved them. However i brought the breastpump and didnt like it one bit. It hurt and didnt get much milk out with it. Yet the avent hand held breastpump i found realy good. Ive also had the Medela plug in breastpump and found it fine.

I have the closer to nature breastpump and bottles. We love them! The breast pump comes with a microwave sterilising box and bottle with a few breastpads if you buy it new. It's easy to clean and use.

Haven't quite got to using the breastpads yet, am loving the pigeon ones at the moment.

That will be too small, you can only just fit the pump and one small bottle in there... definitely worth investing in the microwave steriliser I think it comes with a bottle and bottle brush too which is great.

I have the whole closer to nature range (bottles/breast pump/sterilizer/breast pads/storage lids/formula dispensers/dummies).. and have found it all to be fantastic Only things were Ty hated the dummies (he doesn't like those 'orthodontic' shaped ones) and I never had to use the breast pads. Oh and the formula dispensers only hold 4 scoops of powder

Well there is a Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature microwave steriliser on trademe, so I will keep an eye on that auction. Such a pity it doesn't have a buy now price. As I hate getting into bidding wars with people.

I sterilized all my bottles and pump with the tablets, I borrowed a pump from my midwife who said not to use the heat sterilization on it. That is another option if you don't want to spend too much at a time.

I ended up getting an Avent microwave steriliser from Farmers on special for $64, down from $89.95. I figure the brand of steriliser doesn't matter. But it sounded like having an actual steriliser was way more convenient then any other method of sterilising, so we figured, ok, we'll buy one then.

But I'm still a huge fan of Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature range. So will be using their bottles, pacifiers and breast pump and breastpads(but only if they are on special).

I don't think I'll bother with the 2 Avent bottles that came with the steriliser or the pacifier, as I just think Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature range is way better.
