Topic: Postnatal onset pre-eclampsia Posted: 21 February 2010 at 10:33pm |
I was just wondering if anyone else had pre-eclampsia beginning after birth?
If you did and have gone back for another, what are the chances of it occurring again, and how did your pregnancy differ (with monitoring etc)?
Thanks

I think Em (Emiloly) got it after the twins were born...but I don't know if she got it after her DS was born. She may have some ideas?

Thanks Becks, Will PM you when I think of some questions
I thought I was ok with the idea of pregnancy again, but lately I keep feeling sick at the thought
Mel - I think I was just hoping to be told that it never reoccurs and that I'd have a breezy next pregnancy and birth, but wishful thinking lol

correct me if I am wrong but I think becks was during pregnancy not after.
If its any consolation - I got PE with my first preg and was induced. And had a great second preg with minimal probs really.

I was hoping so too. My cousin had it quite early on (about 25 weeks) with her first pg and her BP was elevated during the second but it didnt come back.. not that it was post onset like yours...
With my research I am actually thinking I had HELLP so am really looking forward to reading my notes when they turn up... that has a higher rate of reoccurence...
Oh well, will find out soon enough...

Nope you are correct, I read the post title wrong.
I had PE with both my pregnancies, went after the boys came out. I think it is a pregnancy issue but if you think you have it, it could be toxiema (sp?) that anyone can get at any time.
