Does anyone know how you can find out if child support is paid directly to the person or if it goes through a benefit?

It depends on if they are on a benefit or not. If they are on a benefit, it goes through that, but if not, it is paid to you.   If they aren't paying, you still get it included with your benefit, but if you're not on a benefit and they aren't paying.. well you don't get it.

I don't know how to find out if she is on a benefit.

There isnt really a way to find out if someone else is on a benefit or not unless you ask around people who know her...?

You wouldn't be able to find out through child support or any other means because this is a privacy issue. The only people that would know is people working at WINZ or IRD and they are bound by confidentiality agreements in their employment contracts.
