ok so im baking and freezing now ...but is there a site anyone knows about for party food for toodlers....eg i want to do something funky with the jelly like individual things...did a test run and the jelly stuck to container. by the way it needs to be super fast as i have 2 kids and the party is on same day and i think i need a vodka cause my head is spinning.......now seems like a good time to start drinking
On the back of the last box of jello I bought it says to make up the jelly in a sponge roll tin or roasting tray (so it's a couple of cm thick) and then cut out individual shapes with cookie cutters. You could give that a try? I'd use a fraction less water than the packet suggests so that the jelly stays quite solid. Oh and spray the pan with oven spray before you pour in the jelly :)
I make blue or green jelly in individual plastic cups, leave it to set and then put a freddo frog in it. kids love it.
Or I cut oranges in half, scoop out the orange and fill the skin with jelly, set and then slice into 3. Its like orange segments but with jelly. My 2 year old loves these.
Blue jelly in plastic bowls with chocolate fish can do the freddo with a fishing line on the side. Or sitting on a timtam as a raft. If you are freezing then pikelets buttered put on plate (plastic) with plastic wrap and then freeze them. Day of party pull them out and put sprinkles on them. Mallow puffs and some icing and put faces on them. Can use mm's or just icing. I wouldn't do too much food as it usually goes to waste. Underplan rather than over and if it all gets eaten have some cheezels or something in the pantry to top up.
Also on the jelly thing I think I read that you let the jelly mixture cool a bit and can put it in a glad wrap lined pan. Do a trial run first as I haven't tried it.
