Hi all,

Went to docs today after being at hospital last night with severe migraine and nausea where they gave me fluids and panadeine forte and something for nausea.

My doc who is highly regarded has put me back on 600mg. of aspirin daily to try and stop the migraines . Were taking this plus Inderal be4 concieving and stopped.

I think I trust this doc but still a bit worried after what I have read on the internet..

I have to get away from these migraines as I cant even sleep or eat the way I am feeing at the moment.

Anyone else take aspirin in previous pregnancies and baby has been fine???

Aspirin is commonly prescribed to pregnant ladies with a history of pre-eclampsia.....I'm on it this time around as have had it twice now....but it is only 75mg (the heartcare aspirin)
Have a chat to your midwife or OB.....they should be more in the know about what meds are safe or what side affects you may experience......GP's are great, but don't specialise in pregnancy (not that they would knowingly put you or baby at risk!!)

It is really dependant on what trimester you are in, and is a risk-benefit type situation... Are you taking it every day or just when needed?

Im having asprin every day too due to high ish blood pressure, to reduce the risk of preeclampsia. This was prescribed by a specialist and I trust that. I think we do have to trust medical professionals and Im sure they wouldn't have given it to you if it wasn't ok. But if you're concerned maybe talk it through with them again. Good luck I hope it will help

HI there. There's lots on information around about low dose (100mg or less) daily aspirin , but not much about higher doses - other than they arent recommended in the third trimester. Keep in touch with your Doctor if you have any worries.
