I don't follow a recipe as such, this is how I make it:

Saute diced onion, garlic, chopped bacon and a diced celery stick in some olive oil. Add cubed potatoes (2 good sized ones), about 2 cups of stock or water, a bay leaf and cook till potatoes are done (about 10 min). Add a tin of drained corn kernels, and your seafood. Pop the lid on and cook about 5 min until all your seafood is done.

Meanwhile, melt about 50 g butter in a separate saucepan, add 2T flour and cook till frothy, then add 2 c milk and cook slowly, stirring, until it thickens up. Add this to your soup, give everything a good stir, add salt and pepper and some chopped parsley.
