    Posted: 11 July 2010 at 5:16pm

Hi ladies

I've had quite a sore bump the last week or so...almost feels like mild BH's

It's not stretching pains (well it doesn't feel like stretching), it just feels a bit tight and well, sore. If I wasn't so early I would say the closest feeling I can describe it as is mild BH. I'm feeling bubba move heaps earlier this time around though so is it possible I"m just feeling BH earlier too?

If it *is* BH is this normal? I don't recall getting them this early with Clodagh but most def got them later on and they got very strong toward the end of the pg. Everything else seems fine IYKWIM?  If it's not BH then what do you think it could be?

TIA

Emmecat I had hard out BH from about 14 weeks with DS. They were quite strong and they continued all the way through.

I also had loads of weird achey/crampy pains with DS it was just stretching/growing pains. Mainly cause he was MUCH bigger than DD

Gulp.Hope this bubba is not much bigger than Clodagh was!  Achey is a good way to describe it misscheeky.... across the top of the bump mainly.

I had BH start around 14-15 weeks with both my girls and had them right through both pregnancies. Yep the tightening could get quite painful at times.

I had BH from 19 weeks with Jake and about 13 weeks with this one... with Jake they were just tightenings in a random spot on my bump with this one some of them have felt very close to a real contraction. Breath taking

I get a lot of them particularily after cleaning LOL So I am not cleaning to much Or if I have been on my feet for a while.

BH actually start at around 6 weeks and everyone has them... some never feel them and some feel them earlier than others.

I take exception to them, what does it need to practise for??? Its had contractions before!!!!

Yep Mel I don't appreciate them either, though I am a first timer I'm getting 5-10 a day now and that's ENOUGH practice already!!

Emme I started feeling BH around 18 weeks too

I started getting BH's noticeably at about 20 weeks, and was a bit concerned as in my first pregnancy I didn't get them until the 3rd trimester.

But then I read on the internet that we start getting them at 6 weeks, it's just that often we don't start feeling them until much later.

My obstetrician says I probably have super-sensitive insides and it is just how my body is handling this particular pregnancy. But that they are not a problem, or indicative of any problem.

I have only had a couple where I actually thought "oh sh*te, that felt real" and they did take my breath away (but could still talk so not full on).

They are definately more uncomfortable this time around PITA!

Yep, I've had BH since about 18-19weeks - early I thought for a first-timer but had also heard what Mel said, they start a lot earlier than what are generally felt so figured that because I was so used to 'listening' to my body through the years of TTC that I picked up on it a bit earlier than a lot would IYGWIM.

They are definitely a bloody nuisance now - figure I can stop the dress-rehersals now and just get on with the real thing!

Oh and congrats on another wee girl!

Just bumping this thread (excuse the pun) cos these pains are still here and feel like they're happening more often  Now my lower back is sore too....this didn't happen in my first pg till much later!

This is all still normal aye? I'm not gonna go into early labour or anything??!! The soreness is generally across the top of my bump quite constantly but then it tightens now and then and is starting to be a bit owwee.

I feel like its better when I rest but no chance with a grumpy/teething/whiney/clingy/non sleeping 14 month old!!!

Emme - If you are concerned talk to your MW about it or even your dr (obviously dr won't be free) but I remember I had them from early on with my 2nd pregnancy.

Yeah you're right, I see her next week I just dont want to bother her if it's a normal thing IYKWIM?  I know its her job and of course I would be giving the exact same advice to anyone else lol.

I used to get mine at 3pm every day... was SO wierd!! Usualy trigger would be Jae waking up and moving around in there, but a lot of the time it would start up whether she was awake or not.

And the bigger i got, the more noticeable (read: uncomfortable. Sorry) they were. I went into pre-term labour at 29 weeks and because my BH had been so strong, I had to wait a couple of hours timing them to be sure it wasnt just a whole bunch of them... but no... 3 minutes apart for 2 hours... thats not BH!

So yeah... i wouldnt be too worried unless they start coming VERY regularly.

Do you find that they come often after you have been active coz that was when I REALLY noticed mine but mine were at the bottom of the bump so just thought my slack tummy muscles were tired haha.
But later on when I realised they were BH, if I had been on my feet for ages they were pretty intense and a couple of times I got excited lol, but then had a rest and they went away boo.

ETA...it was probably about the same time that you are at now that I started to notice mine coz had my wedding and was rushing about getting things done and was exhausted....

Yes they seem to come more often when I am busy (which is always atm!), active (ditto) and not resting (sigh).... what I need is a good babysitter!
