Topic: Need a name for our puppy! Posted: 01 October 2010 at 9:19am |
We have a new puppy, which Chloe and Ollie adore!!
She is 8 weeks old, a black Collie Wheaten Cross with whitish bits around her face and chest.
ANYWAY we are having a bit of trouble naming her! I asked Chloe what she wants to call her, and she said "Molly" which was great because I love that name. However, the neighbor's new baby is called Molly, and she doesn't want us to call the puppy that. Which is fine, I can understand that (I hate that my sister named her cat Chloe, and she doesn't even live next door, lol).
Sooo we are trying to think of name ideas. So far none of us can agree on anything. I need a big list of ideas to put forward!
HELP!
ETA: I don't know why I'm finding this so much harder than actually naming our children, LOL

we used to have a black cat (but deep brown in the sun) that we called Cino (short for cappucino) hehe. and we had a cat we called Ambush. because he hid everywhere and when you walked past he would ambush your legs and attack (in a play-with-me type way lol)

I love the name Ivy but my friends dog is called that.
I like Mandy too, but hubby's name is Andy so that might get confusing.
Oreo is cute but I want her to have something girl-sounding.
We used to have a cat called Mindy!
Milly is a good idea, I will put that to Chloe, close to Molly, but not, hehe
WHY IS THIS SO HARD!?
What about Shilah? Is that a nice girl doggy name, what's the vote?

I think Milly is very cute.
In the photos her markings kind of look like she has butterfly wings painted around her eyes so how about butterfly? Lady? Angel? Bonnie?
You could pick your favourites and then let her decide what she likes best. When we named our last cat we couldn't agree on a name so we started calling her to us using the various names. She came to Clyde so that was her name.

Thanks for all the great ideas! I liked Shilah and Chloe liked it too, so Shilah it is!
She is a gorgeous doggy. Toilet training is tiresome, but she is being really good about not chewing things that aren't hers and listening when I say no. She hasn't chased the cat yet, and they seem to have some kind of truce going although they are wary of each other.
I'm in love LOL... except for the toilet training part
