I don't have any recommendations, but I think the difficulty will be finding ones that ship internationally...for some reason they don't really seem to.

And then the cost on top of the shipping for customs etc for entering Australia. That has put me off getting stuff here from the UK....

Hmm curious, I have brought stuff from overseas and not had to pay duty? Does it depend on the value of the goods do you think?

Some places have horrendous shipping costs I agree! And no need coz then there are others that are fine...my fav craft shop (well only place I know to buy from actually lol) has really reasonable shipping, not much more than to buy in Aussie and ship. And the price of the goods are about half...

I think kids clothes are possibly exempt from customs/duty or at least in NZ baby stuff is. Some companies may include the costs in their shipping perhaps? There will be a limit and after that you may need to pay something. Have a look on the customs website for Oz.

The $$ is amazing at the moment. Shame I dont need anything from the US!

I cant think of any shops off the top of my head but I've bought lots of things from both the US and UK with NO customs taxes or duties, so I guess it depends on what you buy and the value. Albeit, most things I've bought are low in value ie cell phones, books, decorations, wedding and baby stuff etc.

Definately Gymboree - quality is so much better than Pumpkin Patch and the sale stuff is really cheap, plus not every second child will be wearing the same dress/top as yours

Shipping is high but not too bad if you split postage with someone else wanting to shop, or just buy up several seasons in advance! (and because the seasons are reversed the sale stuff is usually right for our upcoming season)

Amazon.com is a great online place to shop. Old Navy does great casual clothes for you and bubs. The general rule is they won't charge duty unless the goods are over $1000 NZD. I'm originally from the States so do quite a bit of shopping online from there. Just remember if buying clothes for you that the sizing is waaayyyy different. A medium shirt fits a good size 12 over here and a Large would fit a 14/16.

Happy shopping!

I got clothes from motherhood.com which worked out well and paid no duty. It was a great option because they did larger sizes

Not really baby related, but we have just discovered The Book Depository
They are based in the UK but its free shipping worldwide and our books arrived about a week and a half later. So stoked- managed to get a new release book for half of what we would have paid in NZ.

hmmm just looked at the old navy website and the shipping was going to be $118 for 3 items. Maybe not such a good idea.

Holy smokes, that is crazy. I shop at ohmycrafts.com and they have great postage, last time I paid $15 or something....considering in Aussie almost everywhere has flat rate shipping of $10 it is really reasonable....

I looked at another shop and it was like $50 postage for some craft items that would be nowhere near as large or weigh as much!

I have found that the shipping is ridiculous. An option is to use a freight forwarding company. Especially if it is free shipping in the US. Then the postage to aus will be the current rate and not a hyped up website rate. I wanted a tube of ointment that I knew was under $10 shipping and they wanted to charge me $40. A regular tube of ointment smaller than ugvita.
