Topic: Sore throat & dairy - help please Posted: 19 November 2006 at 8:02am |
I've had a nagging sore throat/cough/etc for a while now, I think I'm over the worst but the sore throat still hasn't gone. Usually when I'm sick I go off dairy products completely but this time around, I'm craving dairy products. (craving is pregnancy-related)
Are dairy products (e.g. yoghurt, drinking milk) actually bad to have while you have a cold? Should I be resisting my cravings or is it a non-issue? Thanks

I would try not to have stuff that has the high bacteria stuff in it like fruity acidophilus yoghurt and regular cheese. Maybe stick to the kiddie dairy foods stuff instead and processed crap cheese.
Feel better soon!
Lemon and honey drinks you!!!

milk "feeds" phlegm qwhich is why you should stay off it if you have a cold- or if you are asthmatic. i was told by my doctor that my health would improve if I gave up dairy, and I said a life without cheese is no life for me.

I have had a cold and stuffed up nose for the past week. My problem is I am loving strawberry milk ATM which I don't think is helping the cause.

I wasn't phlegmy until last night/today waa waa waa... and having just moved from a place which had a lemon tree to a place without I still haven't been able to source some lemons yet. I guess I could just buy lemon juice with my next grocery shop - now there's a thought!
And I think I might curb that yoghurt hehe lol

instead of the strawberry milk i highly recommend the strawberry coolattas at Dunkin donuts....you will love them and maybe even replace the dairy for them? Ice will help the throat too....

Gosh Becks we should move North, seems we are missing out on an awful lot down here
Okay ironic twist.... Hannah temporarily has muffled hearing and I temporarily have a raspy, almost-gone voice. Sometimes it breaks when I'm just trying to call to her in the volume she needs! Argghh!
