That's a lot of questions to ask and you may want to just do the ones that concern you now and the others later if at all... in my opinion.
You'll probably find that the mw will come around prepared to explain a lot of things. It's good to talk to her about how you're feeling lately (sick? tired? anxious?) and get a general feeling of whether you find her easy to talk to. You don't need instant rapport though, in the last month you'll be seeing her every week so you'll get to know her well by the time baby is due.
Congrats on your pregnancy!

You don't neccessarily need to have them. Most women will have one lot of antenatal bloods done at 'booking' (sometime in first tri with either LMC or GP), then another at 28, and another at around 36. They check your blood group, iron levels, rubella immunity etc. but hCG levels is not routine.
You will probably only have hCG levels done if you have a history of miscarriage, have had fertility treatment, or have symptoms of a possible/threatened m/c. The reason for this is that levels are so varied it can be more confusing and worrying to do them than to not. My GP refused to do anymore hCG's after the first 3 showed they were rising nicely coz I was getting too anxious and obsessive about them/

ahh okies thanks for that :)
i know my blood type and my husbands we were both A- so our baby will be either 0- or A-.
I know I had my rubella injection when I was in form 1 but that was 20 odd years ago so no idea if it is still effective or not.

Your rubella immunity will be fine, and you're lucky that both you and DH are - as if you are - and DH/DP is + and baby is + you have to have an anti-d shot after any antenatal bleeding, and after bubs is born coz - blood doesn't like positive blood. I am - and DP and all of our girls are +...

It pays to get that rubella immunity checked, although there is nothing they can do if you aren't immune at this point!
I had all my injections for it, but turned out that some people lose the immunity for it (me being one of them). They just tell you to stay away from sick kids (in particular) for the first 3 months, and you can have an immunisation 3 months after bubs is born, although I waited til I stopped breast feeding.

I'm surprised a midwife will see you so soon into your pregnancy. Normally they won't see you til you are at least 12 weeks. Lucky you

congratulations.
i saw my midwife up here at 8wks but she ahd sent me for bloods before that and ahd sent me for the dating scan.
I thought it was weird to, but with haleigh i met my midwife at 5wks then for appointments at 13wks after id ahd my 12wk scan and bloods.
i had my reubella jab in form 1 aswell and i was still immune but they still need to check, like what was said above you can lose immunity.
And yeah once you hit fornightly/ weekly appointments you get to know your midwife really well.
I was lucky my midwife i had with haleigh also did postnatal visits after the birth so i got her for an extra 6wks aswell, up here i get a different one for postnatal.
