Topic: Ha ha but is it legal??? Posted: 26 March 2007 at 8:07pm |
OMG I so had to have a laugh at my mother this morning. She is adamant, black and blue adamant that it is ILLEGAL for boys and girls to share bedrooms...
Anyone have any idea where she go this mad idea? I remember when we were kids she went on about it a bit, but she started it up again this morning talking about my ex sil saying she will have to move out of her 2 bedroom house, and get a 3 bedroom, as the kids can't share a room now that one of them is at school as it is ILLEGAL.
Ha ha I have never laughed so much in my life!!!

OK I just txt'd a friend in the police force, and he said that no, it is perfectly legal (after he'd finished laughing at me)

LMAO!
I know Housing NZ will prioritise your transfer to a bigger place if you have one child over 5 and a second under 5 of different sexes, or if you have two children more than 10 years apart (even of same sex) coz they don't expect them to share rooms.

OK my friend has had her 2 (a boy and a girl) in the same bedroom for almost 18 months. So she has been doing it illegally (according to your mum) for that long. Shame on her

RALMAO!!
HA HA HA!!
Oh my tummy hurts from laughing.
Just imagining back in the old days when familys had 8-12 kids in a 2-3bdrm house/shack......
Many parents in jail for breaking the law??
Or children sleeping in loos, kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, laundrys & any apare nook and cranny in the house......
Right.

Maya, housing nz will only let you a three bedroom house if the diff sex are over the age of 10, I went through this a couple of years ago when me and my dh seperated for a short period of time, I was in a 2 bedroom unit and when we got back together we got preggers and had one of each sex we looked into getting a bigger house but were unable and were told that.

Like we dont have enough work already let alone making that illegal...shall i send her a copy of the crimes act???
I can just imagine the crackpots (like her?) that would front up at my office complaining about people or going to CYFS cause kids of different genders are sleeping in same room...perhaps she might like to go to mangere or otara and check out the "highly illegal" bed structures there where they have 10 kids and 3 bedrooms, and grandparents and aunties etc living there too....OMG can u imagine the crimes being perpertrated!!!
yep sorry am laughing...and cracking up at JAX texting a cop on this too....LMAO!!!!

I know! Jax, you rock, that is soooo funny!! She was getting all heat up cos, even though we have a 4 bedroom, the 4th is very small, and suitable for bassinette, but when Charly goes into the cot, there will be no real room for it, and we don't want to move stepson out of his room yet..So I am keen for the kids to share a room for a bit, I think its nice! ba ha ha ha ha ha. *shakes head*

Mel, funny you should say that, but Jacob shared the tub with his 5 year old GIRL cousin and her 2.5 year old brother, and she thought it was cute! And he often shares the tub with Charly!!

ROFL... my BIL and SIL are in a three bedroom house, and they have their 3 kids in one room (2 girls and a boy, all under 5yo) so that the other bedroom can be the playroom! What would she think of that?
