My girls are hard, hard work - Maya is absolutely Feral Four (as in ran around the supermarket yelling 'bumhead, bumhead' coz my childless brother thought it was funny to teach her that)and the gremlins are just time consuming, but tonight I took them to the supermarket to do the groceries and I swear I had 12 people stop and tell me how beautiful my children are (mostly the gremlins, I pretended I didn't know lil miss 'bumhead' )

And it made me feel really good, like yeah it's hard work but it is absolutely worth it.

So what makes it worthwhile for you?

when kobe says 'i loves you mummy' (although tonight it was no i dont loves you I want to go play at aunty shells but i know he doesnt mean it)
and when addi snuggles in and goes to sleep on me but she doesnt for anyone else.
I love being the one they call out for (unless its for the 10th time in the middle of the night then i wish it was hubby), the one that can stop them crying and I love picking kobe up from places like preschool and he sees me and runs and jumps in my arms giving me big cuddles.

For me when I pick my boy up from his carer after a crap day and work and comes racing to me at a million miles an hour...saying mum mum mum.
I don't often get to pick him up but it is just what I needed tonight.

For me it's when James does something that makes me laugh when I'm a bit down it cheers me up straight away, also when he snuggles into my shoulder and the big smiles and how excited he gets when I go to t him out of the cot when he's just woken up

Same here! When she can't crawl fast enough to get to me when I pick her up from Mum's after work

And watching her grow and learn new things everyday, it just facinates me and I sit there and watch her in amazement and think "I made that" *wells up*

oh and her funny little sense of humour

and when she decides to cuddle right in and put her arms out like she is giving me a big hug...and i get to sniff her head....yes really!!! it makes it real and wonderful....

I love it when you can teach them a new thing and then you see their little face light up with "I did that!" My girls make me so proud!

Awwww, warm fuzzies.

My girls do the same Teresa - today I was encouraging Sienna to crawl forward to get a rattle and the look on her face when she finally got it, she was so proud of herself

Ella has just started saying "I love you mummy, I love you daddy" every day. and "oooh I like you mummy". You can tell she really means it, she usually gives you a huge hug when she says it

The smiles!!! They are soo cute, and when she snuggles into my shoulder while I am burping her. And when someone else is holding her and I am talking across the room - the way she follows me with her eyes and knows that I am her mummy.

Thank you Emma!!! I so need this right now. jake has developed the need to make Mum into a 5 syallble word and I haven't sleep properly in 4 days because Taine has an ear infection and is up all night!!!

it's worth it when jake says funny things - like walking out in my stillettos and my handbag saying "let;s go to the warehouse"
When he hugs Taine and pats him on the back (sometimes less pat and more smack) and says "Taine awight?", then as taine continues screaming, Jake looks at me and says "taine's happy mummy!"

For Taine, it's worth it when he grins cheekily and continues doing whats he's not supposed to, and I have to turn around so he does't see me laugh. and when he dances to his music....and when he takes a sip of water and says "ahhhh" - like it must have been so refresshing.

I need this to it makes it all worth while when i have a momnet of grumpyness with Alan and yell yet 5 min's later he still come's and give me big kisses and cuddle's.  Or when Mikey and Alan see each other for the first time in the morning and both get so excited.   Oh and for it's those quiet time's of jsut sitting and being in their company.
