Topic: And the fun begins... Posted: 15 May 2007 at 1:54pm |
My mum is making me some cloth nappies after seeing the ones I borrowed from Stacey she said she could make them. So I have just ordered the material from Greenbeans (its on back order as the PUL is out of stock in the colour I want) and as soon as it arrives she'll be making my nappies for now. I so can't wait to get them as then I will have 7 nappies and that will be a good start. Then roll on July when I get my course related costs and I can buy some more (a mix of Fuzzi's and Tweedles).

I always loved the "can I buy a car with my CRC?" when I worked at Student Services (was when under WINZ). I always said is it needed for studying? if it is then try it. I know the SL person based at Massey so I fill in the form get a letter form Massey and next week there is some money in my bank account.

Yep $36 for the material and other stuff to make 3-4 nappies depending on the size (so small so probably 4 nappies) that works out at $9 a nappy, and I'll be able to borrow a snap press from one of the Palmy ladies on TNN. All I have to do it buy some inserts (was going to get the material to make them but I love the Baby Harmony ones so will just by some of them next week (when I spend the next lot of family assistance ). Josh will have black PUL and Bottle Green Fleece nappies. Josh will model them once they are made. I am liking the darker fleece at the moment.

They are really easy and a lot of fun to make! The only downside for us is they don't perform quite as well but it is an excellent way to build up a stash.
I've got some more print PUL coming and a load of microfleece so will probably make some newborn size to supplement a number 2 stash.

There was some on TNN a while ago but I have a funny feeling it all sold out....you could double check though....it was under Stacey's presale PUL thread.

I'm a bit guttered. Sarah at Greenbeans just emailed me to say they had received they shipment that had taken its time clearing customs but it didn't have the black PUL that she had ordered and it could be at least 6 more weeks away. I've emailed back to see what other colour PUL I could get to go with the microfleese that I have ordered but I'm a bit guttered I won't be getting made for me the black nappies I wanted.

Greenbeans sells the material to make you know nappies. You can get the pattern from the Nappy Network.
