Topic: How does your child say their name? Posted: 19 May 2007 at 8:27pm |
Stole this off the TM message boards, there were some cute ones on there
If you ask Jake what his name is, he says "Bubba" if You ask him to say Jake, he says Day, and Day-ob for Jacob. He calls Charly "bubba" or "Sarwa"
Something reeeeeeeaaallly cute he is saying (and we get him to do it all the time cos we are saddos ) is "Blubs" for Gloves... (CUTE!!) sometimes he says "Glubs" which is cute, too...

Ella says "Elwa". She can't say the l's. It's funny because other kids pronounce her name differently - "Aya" or "Ahra".
She also says "hings" for "things" and I think that is really cute too

Ayja calls herself Ayja, she used to call Paris "Pam-bis" but is good now. one thing i love is how she says motorbike.. she calls them "mo-key-bikes" which usually results is paris cracking up at her and them both going round going "mo-key-bikes!!" and giggling. my kids are crazy.

Hannah used to call herself Nanna, but she can say it now. She says "Be-nona" for Briona (supposed to sound like Fiona) which cracks me up, especially now that Bria is getting a bit bigger and starting to say her own name! Briona says: 'Annah, Nona, and 'Ana .... haha very similar!

None of the kiddies at the pre-school my mum worked at could say her name (Fiona). She got 'Finona', 'ona', 'nona', fona'.

Josiah says "KIII-ahh!" or "ii-yah" for Kiya, "ay-yah" for Xavier and "ii-ahh" or "mine!" for himself. Subtle, but there are differences!

Charlotte still says 'Happy-copter' for helicopter. I don't make too much of an effort to correct her cos its just so darn cute
She is very very particular about her name and will correct people if she thinks they are saying it wrong. Can be interesting with all the different accents around here!

Ella can say her name properly and Benjy's too (but not Benjamin) she does come out with some funny things though.
Motorbikes are rorobikes and after watching an episode of Blues Clues where they were having a pool party she started galloping round singing "ho-party ho-party"
She also says 'hings' instead of things!

Andrew can say Andrew which is good. He calls Josh, gosh or goshua. His favorite of ours would be f**king for flushing. He would run around the house saying I f**ked the toilet. It is very hard not to laugh when a 2 year old is saying that. He has now grown out of it.

xanthe calls herself dante, and when we tried to help her say her name clearer she got all shy about telling people her name, so we gave up and let her say it how she wants.
she says "jordis yiyey" for jordis lilly though, its so cute
